A little of this and a little of that. I have been slacking with posting pics and video so here I am finally catching up. Well....where to start....Let's start with my friend Sarah Sheranian's (now Monson) reception. Scott couldn't get off work early so I decided to brave the hour and a half drive the back way to Provo by myself with Charlotte. I grabbed the laptop and brought some sing alongs and prayed she'd sleep. Well she hardly slept at all but was really good for the ride down. Sarah's reception was at the historic Brigham Young Academy. Really cool bldg. Charlotte only lasted long enough to wait in line, say hi, and eat a little fruit. Once we got outside I decided to let Charlotte run around a bit to get her wiggles out. I thought we'd stop in Lehi at my ever so fav El Pollo Loco but then after that it was about an hour home. I had to stop once right before the county line since Charlotte was screaming. Of course stopping made it worse. Then the laptop came unplugged or something and I didn't wanna stop again since the last stop was a bad idea so I kept on with an unhappy girl in the back seat. Once we got back in town a stupid kid came within inches of side swiping me. When you change lanes you should do so slowly and look over your shoulder. He jerked his car into my lane where I was and I had to swerve to not get hit... he was seriously inches from me. Then realizing he did something so stupid he speeds up really quick, goes in front of me and turns at the next light. I should've followed him but since the laptop flew when I jerked the car and it scared Charlotte and she was screaming, I opted for a quick trip home. Oh then I thought I lost my phone when I stopped about 45 min from home out in the middle of nowhere. Luckily it slid under my seat. Thank goodness. So here's some pics from this day:
Okay moving on to the park. One family home evening Scott and I decided to take Charlotte to the park to play. She may be our little daredevil. She isn't balanced well really for the slide as far as sitting up the whole time but she loves to go down. Scott and I just laughed at the pics of her legs in the air. So cute and so silly. She loves the park and gets so excited when she sees playground equipment. Then its kinda sad, when we leave she turns her head in her stroller looking back like do I have to leave? Here's pics from that:
Let's see... next we'll do Charlotte updates...she is a very silly girl. The next pics will show that through and through. The first one is topless Charlotte. For a couple days she HATED to wear clothes. If I put anything on her it was the end of the world. All she wanted was her diaper. But I keep our house cool all summer so she needs something on but for an hour or so I let her have some freedom. The first pic on the top left is what I found her doing.... checking herself out in my mirror... silly silly girl. Then there are the couple with her and Scott. She's like any kid her age. She gets clingy on and off and back and forth between the two of us. One new thing she does is cuddles.... and if she's in the right lovey dovey mood. She loves to give her Dad cuddles. She puts an arm on each side of your neck and puts her face next to yours. Its so sweet and I love when I get it but you gotta catch her in the right mood. Otherwise its like your suffocating her. Then the last 3 pics are the bowl. I was doing dishes and trying to give her something else when she got fussy but she wanted the bowl. So I let her play with it and what does she do? Put it on her head, duh. I don't think Toby quite approved... he wasn't sure what to do about it but she is so funny. This girl is always making me laugh.
I also have a couple videos. First is little miss independent. When we're at my parents she likes to wander off and we like to secretly follow her to see what she does. Usually its just around the back of the house to the horses and sometimes to the goats.
Then there is the one of her at my parents just being the silly girl she is. Walking around with a little bit of dancing involved... I love watching her dance... its so funny. Don't know where she gets her moves but its funny.
Then there is tickles. I taught her a while back to tickle Scott. He's super ticklish and when he lays down she loves to poke at his belly button and tickle him. I taught her to get his feet too. This isn't the best video. She was getting him so good before I grabbed my camera but here is a quick glimpse. She squeals when she does it too.
Alrighty, next we'll move on to the Christensen Reunion... funny thing is that all the people I knew growing up are probably thinking its my family since that is my maiden name spelled exactly the same. It's totally not. On Scott's side of the family there are Christensens. I've tried to see if there is a connection but all the Danish towns are different so I think we're safe! But it was fun to go and see pics of his ancestors and learn a little bit about them. We also got to see his Aunt Maggie and Uncle Charlie. They are always fun to see and just really nice. Of course there was a little park there so you can imagine where Scott and I spent most of our time. But besides that it was fun to go with Scott's dad and meet some of his family. Here's our pics and a video from that day.
Okay so now onto our hay trips. Last Friday afternoon and Saturday morning we went up to Heber to stock up on hay for my parents horses. Gotta start getting ready for winter! So we left Friday afternoon at 2 and headed up and got 90 bales! It was about 6000 lbs worth of hay. All was well until we were a couple miles from Saltair. Chloe noticed people looking at us kinda funny but then my dad noticed the hay was smoking. So in the middle of rush hour traffic on I80 we pull over and there was much of a shoulder we could pull into. Then my dad yells out to get as much water as we had. Chloe stayed in the car with Charlotte and we grabbed all the water bottles we had an the ice in the cooler and dumped it on the hay. Somehow something was rubbing on the trailer and ignited the hay. Luckily we noticed it early enough to where we could stop it and we had just enough water and ice to keep it wet until we got home. Scary though! I was so afraid we might get hit too since I've driven home in that traffic and in that particular area people kinda zone out since there isn't much there. But things worked out ok and not much hay was damaged and my dad was able to fix the trailer for the next days load. Saturday we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast on the way out. I haven't eaten there since last Nov. when I got food poisoning and knew I could handle breakfast but never again will I eat lunch or dinner or meat for that matter from them. Charlotte played in the play area a bit before we went up for our second load. Much easier to only get 30 bales... of course I say its easier when I wasn't the one doing all the work. Scott and my dad were but I did as much help as I could. They're just stronger. So that was a successful trip minus our little fire but the horses should be set for all winter. So here's my pics and video.
Then here's the video of Charlotte at McDonald's. So silly.
Now this last little update it about me... I've had my ups and downs. Ups.... I finally made it to applebees night with some of the women in my ward and had a really good time. I love talking with them. Especially Kerianda.... she's so funny and I'm just really glad her family is in our ward and that Scott is lucky enough to be there home teacher. Great family along with the many others in the ward. Seriously... best.ward.ever. Another up... I won 3 giveaways in the last bit. I won the $35 gift certificate to Pumpkin boutique where I ordered Charlotte a peasant dress for next spring and some mini korker bows. Then I won a miracle blanket. I so wish I would've had this when Charlotte was born but it'll be great for our next kid! So I'll just have to pack that away. Then I also won an apron from Flirty Aprons. I get to pick anyone from their scalloped line. If I had a choice I'd pick one of the others but the scalloped ones are so cute too and can't decide which one so hopefully I'll decide soon. They are just so cute and I bought some gloves through them for when I do the dishes. At least I can feel a little glamorous scraping food off plates. So giveaways have treated me well so far. Love 'em! Now my down part. Its not terrible but one is a stupid mistake on my part. Well the first thing, I was doing bbq chicken on the bbq the other day. We have a little charcoal bbq on our tiny little patio in an unfinished unfenced backyard. There was a storm moving in and our house faces west which means if it starts getting really windy and rainy, my fire is out. So the flame kept dying down and I didn't have time to wait so when the wind would pick up and take it out I'd have my handy dandy lighter fluid and spray those coals and fire it back up and get the chicken cooking. Well I kinda wasn't being super careful or really paying attention and one time it like exploded. I was so lucky I didn't hurt myself worse. I was kinda in shock then realized it singed the hair on my head, my eyebrows slightly on the left side as well as eyelashes, my left arm hair and it burned part of my left hand and wrist. After I got over the shock and realized what happened, I realized, wow my wrist hurts extremely bad. I went in to try to clean off my burnt hair and went to my aloe plant and started breaking off leaves. We got them for mother's day a couple yrs ago at church and this is the 2nd time its saved me. It helped ease a little bit of the pain but I think it helped it heal a little quicker. I'm not gonna lie, it hurt really bad getting burned like that. Later on when Scott had to go to mutual I was seriously questioning how I was gonna take care of Charlotte since the pain got even worse later on. But thanks to a little extra strength tylenol I survived. So I have a pic of when it was fairly fresh and my aloe plant that saved me and what my burn looks like now that its healing. Now the other bummer.... I think I've posted on and off about our crappy dishwasher. Well I got liquid plummer to see if that might help my not draining problem. Wrong. Instead it made that nice mess you see in those pics. Bubbles everywhere. Oh and for those of you who don't know there is bleach in liquid plummer. So when you're trying to save yourself from doing 2 tiny loads of laundry and you throw in 4 towels with liquid plummer suds on them, in with your cheap ($60) couch cover that you've already replaced 3 times because of the dog.... don't... just avoid it at all costs... now all my yellow towels (which I don't care about... they were junk anyway) are spotted white and my couch cover is all messed up. So time to save up for yet another new couch cover. I just can't win sometimes. But I guess winning my giveaways makes up for it all. Even if the dishwasher really is broken now and it looks like I'll be washing by hand for a long time.... oh well... I have a house to live in and the hottest husband and cutest little girl... what more could I ask for? Anyway, here's the pics:
