This week has flown by. It's all kind of a blur. I think I have a few pics to share too.
First things first, xbox breaks. Which means no streaming netflix. Charlotte doesn't watch it as much but it was handy when I'd fold laundry and just to watch something when we lay down is nice. It wasn't the end of the world but it was quite nice to have. So I tried to fix it myself. Sadly that didn't work but I am pro at taking apart an xbox and putting it back together. Scott and I had been debating what to do. We thought about getting a refurbished one but then wondered if maybe we should just spend the money on a new one. The new ones are so nice. We had just got our tax return and wanted to put it towards debt but we weren't sure. Then Friday night at my parent's my bro offered us his old one. He just happened to have a spare one laying around. If you know my bro he's into a lot of high tech gadgets so it doesn't really surprise me. Of course his old one was nicer than our xbox. It runs so much quieter and it just looks nicer. All he asked for payment was some éclairs from Pastries on Main. So we got him a couple of those and a mini Boston Cream. I think that's an easy trade. So yay for my awesome brother and giving us his old xbox. Hopefully we'll be good for a couple of years.
Shortly after the xbox broke our garage stopped working. For Christmas my parents got us garage door openers. Such a nice convenient electronic device. When we bought the house there was only one and it never worked. So we've been spoiled the last couple months. This time we can't even type in the code. It's all by hand. Poor Scott :) Thank goodness for my handyman dad. He was able to fix it. The chain had come off so once he figured out how it went on and how it all worked we were good to go. Then he comes in and helps with a couple of our cabinet drawers that had broken off. So things are looking and working a little nicer around here thanks to help from my pops.
Another problem fixed....our couch cover. We have an old couch. It was my grandparents and it's like orange and so old looking. But it is crazy comfortable. So we usually have a couch cover on it. Well the one I really liked brought in all the colors that I wanted (sage/dark green, yellow gold, maroon, and a sand color) and was like $60 at walmart. Which is fine but it eventually tears at the seams and the dog put a couple holes in it so yeah, after the 4th one in almost 3 years it was time for a new one. So we went to Target and found a stretchy one that they call palm green and I love. Although the dog hair shows up like crazy and we have to make sure the dog's nails don't snag it. Now we need to get a matching one for the recliner and things will look a little nicer. While we were there and had some money I decided to buy Charlotte a few things since she will be needing more clothes. Got her some super cute metallic shoes for church, a new church outfit, a new shirt, 4 pairs of jammies and a new pair of jeans.
This week has also been my first week doing the biggest loser 30 day jump start. Not too bad. Started strong but ended a little weak. The busier we got the harder it was to stay on top of what I ate. I've also done more dishes this week than anything because I'm cooking more but it's worth it. I still have tons of food so I'm gonna do week 1 again and hopefully whole heartedly this week. At least I didn't gain weight!
Okay... now onto the few pics I took....
A couple pics of my silly girl. She's saying more words or at least tries to. She is just growing up so dang fast!
On Feb 20th Charlotte's cousin Ryan turned 3. We drove up to Ogden to celebrate. I can't remember if I mentioned this in another post but her other cousin, Olivia, also had a bday on the 17th that we celebrated too. I did't get pictures and I can't remember why. But she turned 3 also. So anyway, it was nice to get up to Ogden to see Mark, Ashlee, Mylee and Ryan and also Ashlee's family. We hadn't seen them in a very long time and they're really nice people so it was nice to visit with them and catch up a bit.
One day we found a jumping spider inside and I put it outside. Well Charlotte was obsessing over it a couple days later so I told her we'd go outside and try to find bugs one day. Well the weather had been so nice I forgot it's still Feb. and there aren't many bugs around. We found a few earthworms under rocks but other than that it was trash that had blown into our yard and was showing now that the snow melted. So I cleaned up some trash then found a lady bug. Thinking it was dead I was gonna show Charlotte anyway. But then it started crawling! Charlotte thought it was pretty cool. We also had a little visit from a neighbor girl named Mele. She played with Charlotte a bit while I picked up some more trash.
Charlotte is a funny girl. She loves to see our snake at home but has this snake book that she kinda freaks out and gets weird over. I can't even explain what she does but it's really funny. Well she thinks on of the pictures of a bunch of snakes looks like a spider. So she's always saying its a spider. So last time we were at my parent's I took out their snake, Art and let her touch him. She thought he was cool. Then we had her Aunt Chloe take out her spider, Roxy. She liked that too but she couldn't touch Roxy in fear of her hurting her. I held Roxy too. One of the few spiders I'm not afraid of. Go figure.
I had to show off a few pics of my newest decoration. My visiting teaching partner makes these. I also got to work with her in YW and she's quite talented. She had a little boutique a couple weeks ago and I ordered this from her. I love it and I can't wait to hang it up. Just trying to decide where. She also made me this cute sign for my bday on a large tile that says "Live simply." It's a great reminder everyday. Anyway, I loved it and I'm so excited for it. If you wanna check out more of her stuff you can go to http://chelbiescollection.blogspot.com/.
She makes custom signs so if you're interested she can do whatever colors you want or sayings. She's super creative and makes a lot of really cute things. Hope you check her stuff out!
