So far Feb. has been a pretty good month. We've had plenty going on with both Scott and I coaching the young men's and young women's basketball. Both our teams are undefeated with the boys 5-0 and my girls 3-0. I had my bday on Monday. We pretty much did all our celebrating before since Scott couldn't take off work. He did get a lunch break Monday so we went to lunch at the Pizza Hut buffet. Then that night we met up with my mother-in-law at Big 5. Scott's parent's were gonna buy me some good running shoes for my bday. Scott's mom found a pair that were originally $110 and marked down to like $40. They are amazing! I love running in them! So much lighter and my feet feel so good in them. I was able to run more than I ever had. Usually I have to stop and walk a bit in between because my feet would start to hurt or something. Now I can run like 2 full laps around the park (1.5 mi) then one lap around the neighborhood. So nice to build my endurance up just a little bit more. His mom also got me some good socks and I never knew that it would make that much of a difference but it does! The socks are great and the shoes are great. I'm just so excited now to get some good exercise!
So another super exciting new thing we got just came today. I finally got a new vacuum. Rated well with Consumer Reports and only $84.95 shipped!
We had an old Hoover that I loved but I killed it. I think the motor just died. We used my parents old Hoover for like 6 months. It was old and didn't work the greatest but it was better than nothing. Then I came across this little beauty. Well I really don't think its very pretty but when it came and I turned this baby on.... she took off! This thing has got some serious power! Our carpet it shaggier and so it got rid of all our track marks. It sucked up all the stupid fuzz that comes off of Charlotte's blanket. It's amazing. It worked better than our first Hoover and that one was more expensive! I never wanted a bagged vacuum but they way this one sucks... I don't care. It's amazing and sucks up everything in its path. I'm in love.
Today Charlotte and I had dentist appointment visits too. I was supposed to get my teeth cleaned last month but was sick so had to postpone. Things still look good. Just gotta work on a couple spots a little better. I had them check out Charlotte too to make sure she's looking good so far and to make sure everything is growing in ok too. She's good for now. Molars are yet to come (kinda dreading that day). She does have an issue with her front teeth. She has a gap now but the little piece of skin that connects from your lip to your gum is a lot bigger than normal and comes down way far. For most people its up high. So he said probably around the time she's 7 once she loses both front teeth they'll have to do a minor procedure to snip that so her front adult teeth grow in normally. Hopefully we have some decent dental insurance by then. She looks good though. He made a couple suggestions on snacks in between meals without sugar to prevent decay. Said she has to brush at least once a day (which luckily we've been doing) and said even if she puts up a fight we have to do it (also which we do...usually requires Scott and I pinning her down. So fun!). Once she gets her molars in and they grow together we have to start flossing between those. She's also gotta keep up on the fluoride drops daily since out here they are crazy and don't put fluoride in the water. I'm always complimented on my teeth at the dentist because I grew up in CA and always hear how much healthier people's teeth are from out of state. Not sure why they don't have fluoride here but they really should. But anyway, so far so good and we had a pretty successful trip to the dentist today.
Oh and yesterday I got a new phone! Since mine was broken I was using my sister's old phone which was painted with glitter. Love my bedazzling sister. My mom said my dad's phone was up for an upgrade but he's fine with what he's got so they let me get a new one. Well we found this one:
There were so many choices online and I just wanted something simple. I don't need a smart phone. I have no use for all of its functions. I just need to be able to call, text and take pics. Simple as that. Well the guy had said it was $40 but me knowing I could get something much better for way cheaper or free kinda talked to him. I told him that my mom was paying for it and I really don't want her spending a lot on me so I just want whatever is cheap. I'm not a techy kinda girl. So then he's like "well because you have been with us so long I might be able to knock it down to $10." Hmmmmm... that's possible. The phone is similar to my husbands but mine was waaaaaay cheaper. His is more touch screen and mine only has some touchscreen features. I love it though. Super easy to use and I like the key pad. Wasn't sure if I'd be a fan. Plus the orange is kinda fun and different. It was that or like a powder blue. Then it has a cool little joystick thingy on front and there is a light around it you can change the color of. Kinda fun. So yeah. I just like that I was able to figure out on my own how to use it and didn't have to read a manual to perform a simple task. Love that.
Well I think thats it for my update. I hope everyone has a good valentines day!
