Yesterday afternoon I got a little bored. Most stuff was cleaned up and I didn't have a ton to do so after Charlotte finished lunch we hopped in the car. I wasn't feeling very good. I felt like I was coming down with something. Not sure why I've gotten so sick this year but I'm the only one who's sick again! It sucks. So anyway I just wanted to get out and drive somewhere I've never been and maybe find somewhere Charlotte and I could get out and walk a little bit. Well I'm lucky to live in the Tooele Valley because there is tons of open land and places to hike and what not. So we're driving down 1000 N and I'm trying to decide where I wanna go. I decide to head into Grantsville. There were some stray snow showers so I thought maybe I'll drive towards them and see what happens. So I turn off the highway in Grantsville onto Durfee where I had gone for the girls regions games the week before. I just took that as far as I could. I recognized a road Scott and I had driven down before that goes to South Willow and all the camping areas up the canyons towards Deseret Peak. I realized I had never seen where that road goes so we just drove it. I thought I remember someone telling me it goes to Stockton. I did kinda look at a map before we left so I had an idea of some roads and how they connected and when I came up on Silver Rd. it sounded familiar so I took it. Now I'm not sure if that's Rush Valley or Stockton but either way, there are some HUGE homes there! I had no idea. I looked up the ones for sale in that area and they're rather expensive and rather large. I think one was over 6000 sq ft. Yeah, that'd be nice! So it was a nice scenic drive then we hit up the highway in Stockton and headed back to Tooele.
I wasn't super satisfied with that so I decided to go to Middle Canyon. I knew it was closed but I could park pretty close and Charlotte and I could walk up the road. We had about a half hour before Scott would be off work and the meat in the crock pot would be ready so we got out of the car and took a little walk. The only real green up the canyon is the Evergreens this time of year but I bet it'll start looking so good in the next month. It's always gorgeous at fall but right now it's a little gray at that in between stage. I took a few pics of Charlotte. She was loving just being able to run around. I'll have to take her hiking up there when it warms up. We're so lucky to have so many beautiful places to visit in the mountains around here. We turned back around when a truck with a plow had come up the road. My guess is just working on road clearance for when it opens again. We also saw some deer run up a hill right by us. That was pretty cool. So anyway, it was a nice little trip and just after my phone picked up service coming out of the canyon, I got a text from Scott saying he was about to leave work and we barely beat him home. Good timing! Can't wait for it to get warmer to be able to be outdoors more! Hopefully another couple weeks!

I took this pic out towards South Willow looking at the Salt Lake. These random snow showers were moving across this side of the valley yesterday. The lake always looks so blue and pretty. You can kinda see Antelope Island off in the distance too.
