Anaconda

There is this place here in Tooele called Anaconda. The highway that leads back to the Oquirrhs is called Smelter. I guess it used to be a mining place...I think for copper. Either way its not used anymore and its a nice little recreation area. Each side of the highway has a lane for bikers and walkers/runners. I like to do both but depending on what I do it can be a lengthy exercise. Riding my bike from our house to the very end until its private property is about an hour and twenty min. If I drive my car and park there and walk/run just on the highway before Anaconda its like an hour round trip. I usually prefer the bike riding even if that first hill is killer. After that its such a nice ride with lots of wildlife. A week or so ago I saw a ton of deer! I went around 5pm or so and when I was almost to the end past Anaconda I noticed a bunch of deer on the hill. There were 6. May not be able to tell in the pic but there were. Then on the way back I noticed a bunch more in this field. There must have been 20 or more. I had never seen so many. Probably can hardly see in that pic too but I tried.

Then I took a couple other pics. I love out here so much. I love the view of the lake to the north. It's like having the beach almost. Minus the waves and the water is way saltier than the ocean. Then you have this nice big mountain range to the south and the east and if you look out west another great mountain range. It's just beautiful.
