Day 12
Something I don't leave the house without.... my cell phone. Even when going out for a walk, run or ride my trusty cell phone is in hand. You never know what you might encounter or need it for. And I know people before survived with out phones. I used to do it all the time. But to me its like a lifeline. I really don't use it that often. Scott will text me when he's at work. It's much to loud for him to talk on the phone plus he's too busy so texting works great. Every now and again I get to talk to some of my friends from Cali. Then my mom and dad will call me too. But other than that I really don't use it that much. Its funny how I feel lost if I don't have it by me even though I hardly use it. But I'm the kinda person that likes to be prepared and you never know what might happen that one time you don't have it even if its just for a little walk. For example, one time I was out walking and this bulldog was running around. We have a lot of neighborhoods by the park but it's not like they really face the park so this dog could belong to anybody. So luckily the dog liked me and followed me around as I pushed Charlotte in the stroller. I was trying to make it a quick walk but would feel so guilty leaving this dog with a storm approaching and it'd be left out in the rain. So I checked her tags and all she had was a license number so I got the animal control number and called them and made it to the picnic area at the park just as it started to rain. I kinda held the dog by her collar until animal control showed up and they were gonna look up her number and send her home. So although it was something so simple, had I forgotten my phone who knows what could have happened to that dog. 1000 N isn't the safest street. So I did have to walk home in a thunderstorm but I felt better knowing that little bulldog was gonna find her home. So there it is. I'd die without my phone :)
