I didn't want to give Charlotte too much candy so Scott and I were able to partake of some Easter candy. Plus Scott's brother stayed over Friday and Saturday so he got a little too. Charlotte loved having Rick over. She seemed bummed when he left and brought his name up a few times. He had come with us to church on Sunday morning but left after Sacrament. We left after Sunday School because we were going to my parent's and Charlotte needed a nap. She was able to go to nursery for a bit and did really good. They asked Charlotte if she wanted to say prayer and she said "yeah" then folded her arms and walked around poking people. Hahaha... so Charlotte. We've been trying to get her to say prayers when we help her and she needs some work but she's learning. Anyway, we went down to my parent's for dinner. We did an Easter egg hunt in their front yard. Here are some pictures and some video. I love this little girl so much. She makes me so happy.
Once we got her inside we opened up the eggs and let her eat. My mom made sure to not put too much in (thank goodness) since she had eaten plenty that day. She was also having fun playing with the fly swatter. Erda is a great place with lots of farmland but with that comes flies. There are plenty of flies in the summer and they're already coming around so my dad was swatting the ones he saw and Charlotte wanted to play along.
Then right before we ate we had a big scare. Scott happened to look out at the horses and saw Mouse rolling in her pin. Problem was she got too close to the fence and got all her legs stuck in it. So we all went running out and were trying to push her hooves through. She is a beast of a horse so this was no easy task. We needed her to get further away from the fence. It looked like the only way to get her away would be get a rope around her legs and turn her away from it but still, no easy task. We cut a couple wires and kept pushing her hooves through and she just laid there. Finally with a little encouragement she pulled her legs toward her and got up. We were so glad and she looked so scared. Poor girl. Little scare but luckily it only took a couple minutes to get her out and back up. Phew....
So after a yummy turkey dinner Charlotte was running around and playing. She would stand by the fireplace and Chloe would count to three then she'd do this lap around Chloe. She's so silly.
So Easter was great. It was a great day at church to be able to remember why we celebrate. To remember that our Savior does live. The Atonement is real and because of it we are able to live forever and be with our families not just here on earth but in heaven. So thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the wonderful example he is.
