So the other night on May 13 (Friday the 13th this year) Scott and I celebrated 5 awesome years together. I can't believe its been 5! Wow! Time flies! For Mother's Day Scott's parents got me a gift card so we went to Macaroni Grill in downtown SLC. His parents watched Charlotte for us. It's always weird to be away from her but it was nice to just have some us time. Dinner was really good and we were stuffed! We really wanted to get some chocolate cake too but just were way too full so thought maybe later we'd grab dessert. After dinner we just decided to walk around Temple Square. Back to where it all started. It reminded me of why I wanted to get married in May at the SLC temple. It is so gorgeous there! I swear there are more tulips than I've ever seen. I of course took pics. First here is us coming out from the temple. Ahhh... newlyweds!
Here is the pic I took of that area. Look at all those flowers! Gorgeous right?
There is also this pic from that day
Then we took this on our anniversary
Here are some others I took around the temple. I love the Lakers colors for the tulips. Of course I would notice that :)
Scott and I took these together with all the pretty flowers around. The picture on the right is in the spot where Scott proposed to me. The one on the left is in the garden behind the Joseph Smith Memorial building.
Here's another couple pics from the day we got married. Two of my faves.
Love the flashback pics. Alright so after walking around temple square we decided to go to the Brigham Young Historic Park. It's just across the street. We actually took some engagement pictures there. There are some statues there so we had a little fun. I was a little more risque than him :) Oh and there is asparagus growing there! Had to take a pic. So fun!
After that we walked over to the Nauvoo Cafe to see what kinds of desserts they had. Nothing super exciting so we decided to walk back to our car and we'll get something on the way home. Well we came up on a McDonalds and vanilla cones sounded pretty good so we went for that. Oh and you can kinda see my bruise on my jaw there. Close to my chin. So lovely.
And just when we thought the fun and excitement was over, we saw an accident on the way home and were almost part of it. I saw this black car starting to drift out of the right lane. I was in the left lane. Sometimes people kinda drift but like he was going way off the road. Then he tried to correct and I was afraid he was gonna come right into us so I started to hit my brakes (so glad I was paying attention). I think he thought he was gonna hit me so he over corrected back to the right and went off the road. There is a road that runs along the highway but its divided by barbed wire and t posts. He went right through it and ended up in the ditch. We stopped and so did one other car. We backed up and got out. There were two ladies and one guy. The guy driving only spoke Spanish. I asked them if they were ok and one of the girls laughed and said no. I think they were shaken up but seemed okay as far as injuries. We stayed until he could get the bumper off and get the car up onto the other road. Once they did they waved us off and said they'd be okay. So yeah... super exciting right?
It was such a good anniversary and I am so thankful for my husband. He is amazing and does so much for me and our family. I love him and I am so happy I get to spend eternity with my Scooterbug. Oh and today is his birthday so happy birthday to him! Finally 27 like me!
