Aquarium

Saturday morning after our lovely evening out in SLC the night before, I was craving some more family time. Jackson has been so good about stuff so we decided we'd do the aquarium that day. I realized our passes were still good until Aug so we decided to go. We got there about a half hour after they opened and it was surprisingly empty for a Sat morning. Charlotte was so excited and Jackson was all wide eyed.
We went to the UT exhibit first and Charlotte climbed up on the frog. I forgot they had changed things since we were last there so the otter exhibit was where all the frogs used to be.

I guess otters sleep in because not one was awake when we were there. Otters are so dang cute and I love them and really wish I could have seen them in action. Oh well. Some other time I guess.

We had Jackson sitting big in the stroller and he was just staring at everything taking it all in.

This is one of my favorites. I love to pet the sting rays. I loved the one at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. But since LBC is kinda far, this will do. Charlotte even got to pet one. If they stay low the water is too deep but one was super friendly (I think he was actually looking for food) and kept coming out of the water in front of her getting his face all up in hers. She was loving it.

The penguins were quite active. This is where I wish I had a better camera but its okay. At least I have something that takes pictures. The penguins were fun to watch jump in and out of the water.

The caymen was just hanging out.

This is the anaconda. Such a cool snake.

Aren't these cockroaches sick? They just pile on top of each other and just sleep like that. Nasty things.

The dude getting excited over something.

Charlotte playing in the little caves by the sting rays.

We were only there like an hour. We brought some "lunch" with us and I found this little wetland park thing in Sandy off of 106th just north of Southtowne Mall. It wasn't as cool as I thought it'd be. Jackson started eating his hand. He was getting pretty hungry.

Charlotte was already getting tired. And I forgot to have her go potty at the aquarium.
So Scott walked her to the mall and I went back to the car with Jackson. I moved the car to the back of the mall parking lot and fed him there. When Scott and Charlotte got back we ate our food. Charlotte had pb and honey. Scott and I just had some string cheese, granola bars and cheez its. Once we ate we headed home. It wasn't anything fancy but I always love spending time together as a family. I don't really have friends that I hang out with up here or go places with so I really enjoy the time I have to spend with my family. I'm just glad Scott likes to be around me as much as I do him :) I feel like one lucky girl to be part of this little family.
