Goodness I need to check blogs more! I feel like I've gotten so behind! The new year so far has treated Scott and I pretty good. I've bought some baby things on sale. I'm mainly going for winter stuff for this year when the baby is older. I know I won't get thermals and jackets and sweaters at my shower so I'm trying to stock up as stuff goes on sale. This lady Dorie Woodbury in our ward gave me an exercise saucer yesterday. She is the cutest sweetest lady. She has 5 boys and 1 girl and they're all under 12. Her kids are cute and amazing! Scott teaches her oldest son Brennan and that kid is just so smart and so well behaved. I need to take lessons from her! So she was nice enough to offer that to us. What a help. We've been able to find a lot of cheap stuff in great condition at DI and our family has given us stuff too. I know we're meant to be living in our ward. The people are amazing and I've never been in a ward that is always so willing to help everyone else. It's a great neighborhood to live in.
So I wish I could say pregnancy is getting better but alas, all those injuries as a kid are catching up to me. My tailbone only gets worse. There was one night I was just crying from being in so much pain. I couldn't even go to work the next day. Poor Scott was trying to comfort me and I felt bad he just had to sit back since he couldn't do much. Luckily I was able to find a throw pillow I used on our couches at the apartment. That pillow is my little buddy. I sit on it while driving to and from work and all day while I sit at my desk. It's made quite the difference. The fact I can still walk when I get home and I'm not crying when I get up out of my chair is a huge accomplishment! So still not super comfortable but I would hate to relive that Thursday night over again. Worst pain I've ever felt. Made my surgery look like a piece of cake. I met with my new visiting teachers last night and one of them had similar problems. She had hurt her tailbone as a kid and she was giving me some stretches to try when it hurts so I'm really glad I talked to her. Next time it gets bad I can give that a shot.
I had an appt. today. I didn't get to meet with my doctor last month and he wasn't there again this month. I was supposed to meet with another doctor but she had to deliver a baby this morning so it was the nurse again. I asked her about my tailbone and she said unfortunately there isn't much they can do but I should just keep trying to sit on something as cushy as possible to help me out there. We heard the heartbeat again and also were able to sneak in really quick with the sonographer to try and take another peek. Of course my stubborn little baby is still keeping it's legs close. She's still thinking its a girl but won't say for sure. She was able to get a little bit better view but not much so hopefully that's what it is. We got another couple pics so that was nice of her to take us back really quick. Such an amazing thing to see. We had some great views you can see ribs, and hands and legs and feet. I'm just amazed and the technology we have. So cool!
Well the Draper temple has opened this last week for the open house. Can't wait to go! It looks like it will be amazing. It's in a really nice neighborhood. Well Draper itself is a nice city so I can't wait to see what the inside looks like. Scott and I have been working on food storage. One thing I love about Utah is some of the super cheap grocery stores like Macey's and how they will have food storage sales. So we were able to buy quite a bit of stuff to keep up on our food storage. They had some great deals on long term stuff. I was also able to buy some canned fruit and veggies at great prices. We've also been stocking up on diapers but that's all costco stuff. Best deal you can find on diapers anywhere. Thank goodness for costco too! I realized kirkland brand dishwashing detergent is about $11 for the bucket. It lasted us 10 months so just a smidge over $1 a month for dishwashing detergent is pretty dang good! We also just bought our third box of trash bags from costco since we've been married. About the same price as dishwashing detergent and technically I haven't opened the box since I have 3 or 4 bags from the other box. So we'll be married 3 yrs in May... not a bad deal for trash bags. Costco really has some good deals. Great for our budget! Anyway, there's my little bit of advice. It's not worth buying the name brand. Consumer reports has proven a lot of costco's stuff to be just as good as name brands but much better value.

Sounds like you are in for it with such a stubborn little one! Just a piece of advice, I would wait to stock up on things like diapers, you really don't know what diapers you will end up liking. I planned on using Costco diapers, but in the end, I truly think Pampers work better for Ry. Different brands fit differently, (meaning Ry poops out of Huggies all the time, and sometimes Costco, usually not Pampers!) Also, if you buy too many of a size, you may end up having to store a lot of diapers that the baby grows out of before you have a chance to use them. I totally get wanting to spend the $ on it now, while you have it, maybe you can just put the $ you can spend now in an envelope only for diapers or whatever, so it doesn't seem like you are out extra $ later when you actually need the diapers. Just a thought...I don't want to be telling you how to do anything, these are just things we noticed and have worked for us. (Ry grew out of the first few sizes of diapers really fast and now has been in a size 3 for a long time. We are storing lots of newborn and size 1 diapers for the next kid!) Sorry for the novel! Hope things get a little better, get rest while you still can (kinda, I don't really consider being huge and prego restful though!)
I pretty much buy the cheap ones becuase that's what my budget allows. Scott and I have been on a strict budget so we go cheap. I've been talking to my sis-in-law who was a nurse and worked with the newborns and she's been helping us plan pretty good. it's always nice to have people with experience give advice. huge help and I appreciate it!
Umm Audrey...how come I didn't know you had a blog!!!??? And that you were pregnant?? Congrats! And I'm sorry to hear about your tailbone...that just sounded awful. Way to hang in there. I'll be checking back on your blog!
I totally understand the tight budget thing! You may end up loving the Costco diapers...I know there are a lot of people who do! Pampers just seem to work better over here. I figure I would rather pay a few extra cents per diaper for pampers than go through more diapers a day of less expensive brands that don't hold up for Ryan! (Costco really aren't the worst either!) Just don't ever buy the store brands! I don't think we have had any luck with those!!!!!!
Feel free to ask if you have any questions, I don't claim to know it all, but I think I know a little... ;)
If you really want to save $, plan on nursing for at least a year...formula is way expensive! (Heather)
