Wildwood Cabin 2010 trip v1.0

So this past weekend Scott and I were lucky enough to get to use the family cabin. His grandparents own it with his grandma's sister. It's tucked away in the Wildwood community up Provo Canyon. It's right at the Sundance turnoff. We just love to get up there every year. It's relaxing and cozy and just a nice place to get away without having to go too far or spend a lot of money.

So Friday morning Charlotte and I headed up with a packed car of stuff and got things unloaded and in place. She slept a little on the way up so I waited until we had lunch and she ran around a bit before I laid her down for a nap. I took her down to the park. She couldn't really swing since she can't hold herself up that well yet. But she sat on my lap and we swung. She went down the slide once but I think it was kinda hot since part of it sat in the sun. She didn't make an effort to go back. Then she saw the basketball hoop. She took off for that. But I didn't bring a bball. I was gonna have Scott bring it up later since I didn't know where his outdoor ball was. So after she played Charlotte napped and while she was napping Scott made it up. He was supposed to be up earlier but had an issue with the machine at work and got stuck which just figures on Labor Day weekend. He ended up hitting a bunch of traffic and missed an exit with all the construction and it took him like 30-45 min longer. I just felt bad because he had Toby with him. He took up his parent's truck so we could bring up Toby's cage and not cram a dog, carseat and baby and 2 adults plus luggage into my little Accord. It was so much easier that way. So he finally made it up that evening. I even got some me time. He stayed at the cabin with Charlotte and Toby and I drove to Borders to get internet access to make sure I didn't win a giveaway. Of course I did and only had so much time to respond so glad I checked. Then I went to Harmon's to get some groceries. I love the Harmon's out there. It's so nice and you can find almost everything there.

So Charlotte was really tired I guess because she was down at like 7:30 that night. She was out before I came back and I left a little after 6. The best part was she didn't wake up until like 8. So Scott and I slept good too. Saturday we went to Walmart. I needed more dvds for our video camera and I couldn't find the right rolls for my sloppy joes I was gonna make Sunday. There was not a single cart at the front of the store and we had to hike from the back of the parking lot there. It was packed with people buying BYU stuff for the game that night. We went back to the cabin to get a nap for Charlotte in. Then met up with Scott's dad and brother, Rick, at CPK for lunch. They were going to the football game so it was fun to hang out with them and have lunch. Then we stopped at winco on the way back to get some bulk candy and spent the rest of the evening at the cabin.

Sunday we got up and thought it'd be fun to drive down the canyon to let Charlotte go play at Timpanogos park near the mouth of the canyon. We had fun playing with her too. I think Scott may have had the most fun though. She went down the slide and after that her hair was so poofy. It was cute. Little fluffy piggies.

After we played we went for a walk. We walked across this bridge and just in a loop back to the car. Charlotte loved to walk around and feel like a big girl. Sometimes she'd hold our hands and we'd swing her. It was probably the farthest she ever walked. She did get kinda fussy near the end.

Then we hopped back in the car and went to Bridalveil falls. I was surprised how big it was still being the end of summer. We got a few pics from around there too.

We got back to cabin after that and let Charlotte nap. Scott's younger brother, Rick, came up later on after his church got out. He lives in Orem so he wasn't far. He just came up to hang out and he had dinner with us. Always fun to see him. He has a good sense of humor so we always have fun with Rick. We didn't stay up too late. and got up around 8 the next morning. Charlotte basically slept 10+ hrs every night we were there. We left there in the morning to get back and unpack before we had dinner with my parents. I have some other pics from the cabin of Charlotte and stuff. Toby did so good. Way better than last year and he's always good with Charlotte as you can see in the pics. Some of the pics are of things up at the cabin Charlotte kept playing with.

We had such a blast up there and can't wait to go back. We were gonna go not this weekend but the following but it sounds like Scott's uncle may be using it so that all depends on if he is. We will be up there conference weekend too so if we go twice this year, we are so happy with that. We have to at least once and any other chance is a great bonus! Well I told Scott's cousin, Liz, I'd get some pics of the cabin to show her hubby but I didn't think they'd work well so I went with a little video instead of the inside and out. I'm retarded and sometimes put my finger over the microphone/speaker accidentally so bear with it. Here's the grand tour!
