Alrighty.... this month and the meaning of my blog name.....
This month has been a kinda busy month. Full of volleyball practice, volleyball games, a trip to the temple for sealings, Regional conference, scout campout, visiting teaching, family visiting, trying to decorate for Halloween, and lots of little things in between.... including Charlotte teething... not just any teething.... molars. The worst of all. I'm surprised her head hasn't spun yet. If her fit throwing this week is any indication of how she'll be as a teenager.... we are in for trouble. Charlotte has always been the girl that knows what she wants. If she doesn't get it, she's not afraid to show you that she's not happy about that. So I've survived some crazy fits this week. She usually dives onto the floor and rolls around crying and screaming. Eventually when she's done with that she'll come over to me and wants me to pick her up... like that assurance that I still love her even though she's Satan baby sometimes :) This last week was the worst by far but I think it's running its course so hopefully we'll be good soon. I've also noticed this month Charlotte is developing a really good sense of selective hearing. Like how she suddenly goes deaf when I'm asking her something she doesn't want to be asked or telling her something she doesn't want to do... but the second I go a different route to peak her interest... she can suddenly hear again! Such a miracle! I assume that most parents with older children will tell me that it only gets worse as they get older so bring it on!
Now the meaning behind the name of our blog.... well....since I am no longer a Christensen (thank goodness... I hated signing my name... such a long last name) I am now a Spence. For some reason every time I have had to give my last name to someone whether its in person or on the phone, people always ask how to spell it. I even try to enunciate and it still doesn't help. So what I always find myself telling people is "Spence, its like Spencer without the 'r'." I really just couldn't think of anything else and until I do... I'm sticking with that. People can always spell it right when I tell them that. Then I don't have to go "S as in Sam, P as in Paul, E, N as in Nancy, C as in cat and E." Reminds me of when I was working and having to read model numbers over the phone or spell out a customers name.... oy......but yeah. That's my little story
