I'm trying to catch up on blogging before we head up to Idaho on Friday for Scott's cousin's (Karly) wedding. I am so excited to take a little trip. We haven't had a ton of extra money to take a really good vacation in a while. Just our trips up to the cabin. So even though its only one night it'll be fun to see Karly all gorgeous in her dress and be able to spend time with family. I'm just so excited. So anyway... back to my post.... Disney On Ice! Scott's work usually gets these tickets every year and its been a couple since we went so he got some and thought we'd try taking Charlotte. Since she's under 2 yrs old she gets in free. Scott had 3 tickets so we brought my sister too. I didn't feel like paying for the upgrade to closer seats so I went the Thursday before to try and get decent seats. We took a little road trip to ESA and were in section 18 row 18... not too bad.
So we did the 2:30 show on Sat. I never pay to park so I parked in my usual spot by the Gateway. I couldn't believe I found a spot since it was packed and its a 2 hr limit. We were there at 2 so I was hoping it would end by 4. We walked in about 10 min before it started and I bought Charlotte one of the light things where you push the button and the stuff twirls around. I knew she'd love it... even though it cost $20! She played with that thing the whole show. I think she really liked it. A lot of the songs she knew from her sing alongs so she'd get excited when she heard a song she knew. I wasn't sure how long she would last. During intermission we did a lap around ESA and that got some of her wiggles out. She almost made it through the last part then Scott took her out. He did a couple laps around ESA with her and saw Thurl Bailey! He was coming in to do the Jazz pre-game stuff. Chloe and I knew it was gonna end so we walked out a little early and met up with Scott and Charlotte. As we walked back to my car we saw all these tickets on cars and I was hoping they didn't get me.... thank goodness I was ok. But some idiot thought it would be a good idea to park right behind me and leave 6 inches between my car and their's. Nice. They had a ticket. Sucks to be them. There was a fire hydrant close behind and they were blocking it horribly. That's a shame. So I had like no room to move. It took me 3 tries of backing up and moving forward to get out. I bumped into that car and nudged it some but I didn't care. They were stupid to get that close to me. Chloe wrote a note on a post it and put in on their windshield next to their ticket. So funny. I finally made it out and we had planned to go and eat but Charlotte seemed tired so we picked up some Zupas to go and went to my parent's and ate there. We had a lot of fun and I think next time around Charlotte will do even better. So here's some pics from the night:
We took pics in front of the John Stockton and Karl Malone statues. I love the looks on her face. She also had to walk down the stairs herself so hopefully too many people weren't annoyed with me taking too long. I love the pointing finger too. My little pointer...thats "the finger"
The Lion King was the first part of Mickey and Minnie's adventure. Charlotte really liked seeing that first and hearing the songs she knew.
Next was the Little Mermaid. She liked all the "fish" and bright colors and lights. Plus I think it was the coolest. They had jelly fish and Ursala looked really cool.
After that came Lilo and Stitch. I don't think Charlotte was too jazzed about it. I've tried to have her watch the movie before but she's still in love with her sing alongs.
Peter Pan was after the intermission and the last part so we saw Captain Hook get taken away by the giant crocodile and then we took off.
This was back at my parents. At Zupas they give you a piece of bread and a chocolate dipped strawberry with every order. Charlotte is cute enough to get all of us to give up our chocolate dipped strawberries. She was loving those. She wouldn't share much with me so I just wanted to get whatever food into her tummy I could. She was wearing a nice white shirt I really didn't want ruined so I took that off and of course the necklace stays on. She loves her necklaces. I think this was one we got at the 3rd of July parade. She's such a cutie. Love my topless girl with her necklace and tie dyed levis.
