I'm really sad I don't have any pictures. I packed my camera and when I was at the Rexburg Temple I pulled it out and realized... oh, it won't turn on because the battery is at home... on the charger. Good job me. So I have no pictures of Karly and Wade or of anything we did. Oh well... I guess I'll just tell it in words.
Well we decided for the trip to turn Charlotte's car seat around. We thought she might do better facing forward. So although I know it's suggested to keep them rear facing until 2 yrs I made it almost 19 months. So Charlotte loves to face forward now. She did pretty good. She got a little antsy but we didn't have to stop for her so that was good. We ate some lunch in Rexburg at this place called New Fongs where Scott's dad had been to. It was pretty good. Really yummy sweet and sour chicken. Then we headed up to the temple for Karly and Wade's sealing. I stayed out with Charlotte while Scott and his parents went in. I changed Carlotte into her church clothes then let her run around a bit. It had snowed a bit on us while she ran around outside. Then I brought her into the waiting room area where she played with other kids. It was kinda crazy at the temple because another bride and groom came out before Karly and Wade. So between the 2 couples and all the families plus the really cold weather we were all kinda running into each other. Charlotte was having a pretty independent moment so she just wanted to run around a lot. I think they only took a couple family pics but I stayed out with Charlotte. She was just not wanting to be held. Scott was able to get in though and he's the one that counts.
After that we headed back to Idaho Falls to our hotel. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. It was pretty nice and a good size room which was great for Charlotte's crib. Charlotte crashed in the car and was out cold. She woke up when I pulled her out of her carseat and I thought she might go back to sleep once we settled down on the bed at the hotel. We all kinda cuddled together on the bed but she wouldn't fall asleep. So after a bit we decided to kinda unpack stuff and relax. Then after a little while we went out to eat with Scott's parents at Cafe Rio. Always so good. Then we headed over to the reception. It was so beautifully decorated and the food was really good. Karly looked ever so gorgeous in her dress and her and Wade are just super cute together. I look forward to future family functions and seeing them together. They're cute. And Wade seems really cool and fun like Karly. It's always fun to add to the family and get to know people better especially since I don't have much extended family.
We didn't stay all too long at the reception. I was hoping Charlotte would last longer but she was kinda antsy and then when I went to change her diaper she peed. I pulled her up really quick to save her dress and set her on the floor while I cleaned the puddle off the changing table. Then she peed on the carpet and got her boots wet and some of her dress. So I'm in the mother's room moping up this puddle and squirting my hand sanitizer all over it to disinfect it. Then I lay Charlotte back down to get her diaper on. Luckily I had waterproofed her boots when we first got 'em. They're like suede. Not sure if its real or faux but either way, I hope they're okay. Then used about a million paper towels to try and clean up her pee spot on the ground the best I could. It just totally figures. Oh well. So we took her back to the hotel after that and got her ready for bed. The only place where she couldn't see us was by the bathroom so we had to get ready for bed and shower too as quick as we could so she'd go down. She did awesome. She laid down and was out pretty quick. Scott and I slept pretty good too. I was out from like 930 or 10 until about 730.
Once we were up and ready we went down for breakfast then packed up and headed out. It had started snowing and was kinda crazy at one point on the highway. We drove up with Scott's parents so it was nice not having to drive in that ourselves. We saw an accident and some slide offs. Once we got through the snow it was rain. Charlotte got a little fussy but wasn't too bad. We stopped in Ogden to visit Scott's brother. It was just him and his son Ryan home. I was bummed we didn't get to see his wife and daughter too but I'll see 'em on Thanksgiving. We went with them to McDonalds. Charlotte threw one of the biggest fits I've seen in a long time since she couldn't play in the play area. Scott ended up taking her over there. It just wasn't worth it. Then she threw a fit because we wouldn't let her climb up in the thing and play since Scott couldn't follow her up there. She eventually got over it and we left and she ate in the car. Then she fell asleep again. She was still sleeping when we got home and kinda woke up but let us lay her down again and she slept like another 2 hrs in her crib. That little girl was just tuckered out.
After we got home and got things put away Scott's mom went with me into WVC to go to Costco. It started snowing when we left and was pretty crazy. There was lightening flashing right over head and thunder cracking. It was coming down so hard. We saw couple slide offs too. Luckily it wasn't too bad on our way home. It was quite the day for weather. But we had a really fun trip and it was nice to spend time with Scott's parents. Even though we live so close sometimes it doesn't feel like we see them enough. So yeah... congrats again to Karly and Wade. So excited for them. Being married is the best!
