So I have spent so much time today trying to update this blog. Picassa had been giving me issues because my computer is slow and lame. Then I wanted to do something new. I'm not very computer savvy but sometimes I can follow directions so I've tried to spruce it up a bit. I'll get there. But in the meantime I have a few pics. This might be one of two or three posts. We'll see. It's late and I'm really tired.
This post is ode to my little girl. I love her so. She drives me to my breaking point but seeing that cute little face and just to see how big she's getting makes it all worth it. So I've got some pics of her. I love my little monkey so much. She's just so funny and is smarter than I realize. Anyway... here are some pics.....
Charlotte used to be the baby that fell asleep in your arms all the time. Now, that's pretty much impossible. Very rarely does this ever happen. Here is one such occasion. I was trying to cook and she kept freaking out over every little thing. Apparently she was really tired and Scott was able to get her to come to him and cuddle and soon enough..... she's out! It was only like 6pm and I felt so bad for the sweetie. We had to wake her so she'd go to bed at a decent time but dang was she cute cuddling up with Scott.
This is a new thing. She likes to dump out Toby's toy basket and sit in it. She also likes to take Toby's toys and play with them then throw a fit when the dog takes his toys back. Sometimes he likes to chase her around growling with a toy in his mouth and she growls back and chases him too. Gotta love that she's totally entertained by the dog.Once or twice a week Scott is able to find a little free time and play his NBA game on the xbox that he got for Christmas. This is one such night after Charlotte's bath. This may have been when I was sick. It was just so cute seeing Charlotte in her cute Jazz jammies sitting next to Scott watching him. Then I told her to hug daddy and she did. Then I had her scratching daddy's head. She's so sweet. She loves Scott so much. She is a daddy's girl. Every day when he comes home and she hears the garage open, she starts dancing and getting all excited. It's really cute.
Can't remember what she was doing here. She makes lots of funny faces. One of my favorites is her attempt at a head nod for "yes." When it looks like she's pooping I'll ask her if she's going poop and she kinda nods her head yes while her face is all red. Or sometimes if she seems kinda tired and we're out somewhere and she's just being oddly quiet, I'll ask her if she's okay. She does her really cute "yes" nod. There are just so many things she does now. When you ask how old she is she'll hold up 1 finger and on a good day say "one." When she has 2 of something she uses this cute high voice saying "two!" She's pretty good at communicating what she wants. She can tell me if she wants certain food items like snacks for fruit snacks, zels for pretzels, nana for banana, wa for water, dog for corn dog, cheese, boo for blueberries, and she tries to say apple or pineapple too. She's also been super obsessed with her sing alongs, all the toy stories, and spongebob. Luckily we have all that stuff. I must change dvds a hundred times a day. Some days all she wants to do is watch the toy story movies. She says "toys" but it resembles "cheese" so sometimes it takes a couple yes or no questions to figure out what she wants. If she starts talking about "dogs" its usually gonna be a sing along. I just bought some old vhs ones off amazon. Scott and I were getting kinda worn thin so we'll have quite a few more soon to ease the pain :) When she wants spongebob it's usually referred to as just "bob."
Oh and one of my favorite things she does is "prayer." Not sure if I posted about this yet but she is so cute. Scott and I had been doing good with saying our prayers together but decided we need to make more of an effort to include Charlotte. So we've been doing our family prayer and making the effort to do it with her when we eat. She is so dang cute. She can just about say the word prayer and reminds us all the time. Most of the time I'm giving her food before Scott or I eat. We'll normally wait until we are all sitting down but Charlotte insists on it sooner. She kinda can fold her arms but most prayers result in her saying "yeah" the whole time through it while she's eating. Its still cute though. She knows when it supposed to be said. Sometimes when I'm giving her milk before her nap she'll turn to me and say "prayer." So we pause whatever movie we have in and say a little prayer. I've actually noticed a difference in how she goes down to sleep. She doesn't scream as much as she used to and she seems to sleep better. Such a difference in a change ever so simple.
I'm trying to think of everything else she does. She doesn't like high chairs much anymore. She wants to sit in a normal chair. She is quite the independent one. She's getting into the dolly stage. Today we had gone with my parents into WVC to get In 'n' Out. We just happened to find a Buzz Lightyear toy in their car that my nephew had left. He had gotten it for free from someone else so it wasn't a big deal. So they told me to have Charlotte take it home. She was trying to give him her water from her cup and found her brush and was trying to brush his "hair." It was pretty cute. She's just getting better at understanding things and I love it. It's so nice to have that communication barrier get a little bit lower each day. Some days we struggle so the best I can do when I don't understand her and she's throwing a fit is to try and calm her down and have her show me. Not always successful but I try. Some days I'm amazed at my patience and other days it is quite short. I guess that's just life as a parent and you do the best you can.
Well its quite late and I need to sleep. Hopefully I can finish my other posts tomorrow while Charlotte naps and be all up to date with stuff. I have been thinking how I've been so horrible keeping a journal but then I remember.... hey! This is like a journal. I can print it into book form for our family to always have so don't beat yourself up. Yahoo! Love the technology we have nowadays. I type so much faster than I write so this saves me HOURS of work. So stay tuned for the rest and I hope everyone year is going good so far!
