A new record!

The temple twice in a week! It's amazing! Yeah, that pretty much never happens. We're lucky if we can go once a month. Gas is getting expensive! This week we have the opportunity to go twice. We had the amazing experience of cleaning the temple on Monday. I was so excited. I love to clean so to be able to offer this service in the Lord's house is just incredible. The assignment was from 1 to 5 Monday afternoon when the temple is closed. Cleaning the temple is perfect for me because I get too detailed sometimes and that's the place you need to be detailed so I could just run with it. Scott and I cleaned the front entrance, waiting room and youth room. He vacuumed all of it and I dusted the youth and waiting room. He dusted most of the front entrance. We both had a pretty good amount of glass to clean too. In the waiting room there is this big glass divider by the door closest to the temple. It's quite large but they have the best glass cleaner I swear. I need to find out where they get it from. I need that in my house. By the time we were dressed and got instructions it was about 1:30 and we cleaned those by 3. Then we took a little break in the cafeteria. After that me and Solo (she's the one I helped coach volleyball and basketball with this year) had to scrub the stairs by hand. Every day they vacuum the stairs then scrub them by hand. Incredible. I couldn't believe it. No wonder the carpets stay so clean! We did the two sets of stairs that go from the entrance downstairs. Then we did the set that goes from the waiting room downstairs. After that Solo and I were taken to the nursery where they keep the kids when they're doing sealings. She stayed there then I went around the corner to do 3 offices and the furniture around there. Then lastly we finished up cleaning off some lockers for the ordinance workers. It's amazing what they do every day to keep that place spotless. I like to think I keep my house pretty clean and orderly but that experience reminds me to try just a little harder because my home is just as important. It was such a great opportunity and I hope I get a chance to do it again in the future. I loved it!

In the last couple months Charlotte and I have had our fair share of illness. We've been to church on and off. She's impossible when she's sick to get her to sit through sacrament, my Sunday school class and Relief Society. So we've either just gone to Sacrament and Sunday school or Scott's kept her home and I just go to teach even though I'm sick. I hated to find a sub last min and figured I'd be ok for one class. We've just had a tough time. So I've been outta the loop on what's been going on in Relief Society. So this past Sunday (and it was an amazing Sunday at that. Charlotte lasted through Sacrament and did so good in nursery) I realized we had a ward temple trip planned for this Friday. We were supposed to get a couple family names to take too. I didn't think I'd be able to get any family names. I knew my mom had been working on stuff but she sent a lot of stuff over the internet so I figured even if we can go we can still get the work done. I was lucky enough that my sister didn't have plans. My mom had watched Charlotte Monday when we cleaned and I thought I could just have Chloe come down here to watch Charlotte and put her to bed. So we got that set up and I thought I'd just ask my mom if she had any names. It just so happens she was able to find some for us. Correction. She just called me and said she could only find one for Scott. Funny thing is this guy just had his initiatory completed in the Salt Lake Temple on the 12th. The day after we were there cleaning and just in time for us to do the endowment. Coincidence? I think not. My mom is a convert so we have lots of work to complete on her side. I'm really excited. What a great opportunity! I'm really looking forward to tonight. It's been a while since we've done an endowment session with Scott and I. Usually we have only had time for initiatories or sealings or baptisms with the youth. So this will be nice for us. We need this time to just relax and take it all in. Oh how I look forward to tonight. I love the temple!
