There are a couple things that I think of. One is the beach. I loved going to the beach. Before we moved my sister and I would go like 2-3 times a week. I loved to boogie board and just be there whether it was in the water or laying on the sand. I would always drive the back way through Somis and all the farmland. I loved it so much better than the freeway. It was so much more relaxing and much prettier. Sometimes we would just go to Leo Carrillo. My most favorite tide pools just north of Malibu. Last May we got to go to Cali for my friend Ashley's wedding. One morning Charlotte was up at like 4 or 5 Cali time so 5 or 6 UT time. I didn't wanna sit in the hotel room forever and had really wanted to go to the tide pools but had checked the tides and low tide was like 5am. I figured we still had a shot so we took the scenic drive on Mulholland which drops you off like right there. It was like 8am and Charlotte loved it. She got to make the anemones squirt water and we saw crabs and all sorts of stuff. She was just learning to walk and had a ton of fun in the freezing water. So that's one thing I really miss. Right with that would be my friends. These aren't just any friends. These are the girls I grew up with. They are like my sisters. Some I've known since like age 2-5 and others since like elementary school. So me moving away from them was like leaving family behind. I'm lucky to see them once a year. They happened to visit right after we got our house 3 yrs ago. Then I was back last year for Ashley's wedding. That was the last time and that was just about a year ago. It's sad not having my girls around anymore but maybe some day I'll convince them that UT isn't as bad as they think and they can all move into our ward because it's seriously the best. That's my wishful thinking! Until then hopefully I can see them whenever I'm in Simi and they better let me know if they're ever in UT whether its north or south. I would so make the drive if possible to see them! Oh and here's some pics below from my last Leo Carrillo trip.
