Park, park and more park...

So if its like 50+ out I've been taking Charlotte on bike rides and trips to the park. We have been enjoying every warm minute. Charlotte has grown up so much from our last visits this past fall so its fun to see her run around and climb more. She's really impressed me with her skills. She loves the slides now and goes down without any help. She'll climb on just about anything. She loves to swing and her new thing is to let go of the chain like she's some crazy daredevil. The thing is with the park by our house it is kinda daredevilish because the kids swings aren't super safe. There isn't a strap or anything to hold them in place and it's just a really odd swing choice for little kids but whatever. Make due with what ya got! Here are some pics I took of her at this park that's about a 10-15 min bike ride from our house. It's called Elton park. They have two different play areas and this day I took Charlotte on the one that's on the north side of the park. Of course it was empty when we got there then all these bigger kids showed up and were playing tag and she got knocked around and I about beat up some 10-12 yr olds. But she's pretty tough and recovered quick and just wanted to slide.

The other days we stayed closer to home and just went to the park by our house which is like a 5 min bike (if that) ride and a 10 min walk. Here's a pic of our playground. It's actually a really big park but for whatever reason in the last 10 yrs since all the developments around there were built, they couldn't get the funds to finish it. For now its this playground and a large grass area that is used for a lot of soccer games in the spring/summer. There are bathrooms and a covered area with picnic tables. They recently put in a new water tank to help with water flow to the area. Hopefully it'll be finished one day. It could be a great park! One lap is 3/4 mile so it's great for exercising too and gauging your distance.
Whenever we leave to go somewhere Charlotte can always see the playground as we drive down the road to get to Main st and she always says "play!" So these next pics are her playing on this playground. Starting the top left and going clockwise... This particular day she wanted to bring her baby doll. She's been playing with the baby a lot more at home and I found this cute little blanket my mother in law had given her. I can't remember who made it but its for dolls and its a cute little quilt. So anyway this baby has been using the blanket and Charlotte's been pushing her in this tiny doll stroller I found at DI. So this day baby got to go for a bike ride and Charlotte wanted to take her on the playground. Then she realized carrying around the baby isn't so fun and you can't really play so the baby had to sit in the bike seat the rest of the time. Almost like real life! Next one is her going down the big blue slide. She's getting pretty good at her colors. Although everything is blue first then she can usually say the right one. She's got down white, red, blue, green and yellow. Working on orange and purple. I think the orange as a fruit and color really confuses her. Next is her smiling for the camera. I asked for a smile and got this silly face. Cutie. Below that is explorer Charlotte. She's like her mom. Little nature girl. I love playing outside as a kid looking for bugs and playing with plants. Hopefully Charlotte has as much fun as I did doing that stuff. We have some cool bugs in UT! The next pic amazes me. She can climb that twisted ladder. I showed her how to do it once and she just keeps getting better. I still have to stand there in case she slips but she knows to go one step at a time and use her feet to grip and when she gets close to the top she says "two" meaning she is supposed to grab the two yellow poles to hold on and pull herself up. Can't believe this little girl can do that already. I forget she'll be two the end of the month! Last pic is my silly girl just holding up her water because she's done with it and wants to go play.
