So we've been busy. I'm sure I'll forget a lot (thank you pregnancy memory) but hopefully not. Last week I was trying to hurry and work on crafts for Super Saturday. We were supposed to have a meeting on Wed. I was struggling to get Charlotte down (she would not fall asleep) in time so she could get a full nap and I could be on time. But then I got a phone call saying it was cancelled. I guess it was only going to be 3 of us there (same as last meeting) so our RS counselor just thought she'd call and check up on our assignments and just update us on the stuff coming up. She hated for us to be the only ones volunteering for things too so she was going to try to talk to some of the other women in the committee. Seriously a relief. So although it took forever to get Charlotte to sleep I was now in no rush and could show her the temple pic stuff on Sun which everyone loved and I'm just super excited how cheap it is. It's going to be awesome.
So the rest of the week I was trying to get my lesson down because I had my first class for Teacher Development. I'm so excited to be teaching. I had a kind of sad turnout. Only 3 there but one lady was sick and she should be coming pretty often. Not sure about the rest. But the 3 in my class were awesome and I'm really excited to do this. It'll be a great learning experience for me.
This past weekend was the most dreaded rivalry week. For two reasons. One not so dreaded: Tooele v. Stansbury. The high school's had their rivalry game. I think Tooele got smashed which is kind of sad. We have a couple boys in our ward on the team. Poor kids. But the one I dread is the University of Utah v. BYU. I don't really have a preference for either team. I just hate what it does to people. Some people take it way too seriously. It's just a football game, your life is not going to be affected whether they win or lose. You're just a fan watching a game. I'm not gonna lie that I was pretty happy to see USC beat the U the week or two before but some of the U fans just kill me. Although BYU fans can be bad too and think that the Y is the Lord's university and get all holier than thou. Yeah... why can't we just root for a good game and be happy with whoever wins. Maybe the same reason I don't want to see the Clippers win. Why do we have 2 teams in LA anyway and really, what have the Clippers done? Hahaha...poor Clippers. But either way I just hate what this rivalry does to people. You really see an ugly side and I don't like it. It causes contention (and contention is of the devil... seminary scripture mastery... can't believe I remember that!) Well BYU got spanked. Very sad from what I heard. Scott watched the game with his dad. I was at my parents for a little bit with Charlotte but then went over to my in-law's so Charlotte could see them too. I didn't watch much of the game. But I'm glad that's over and we can get on with it all. Although now a bunch of people wanna see USU (which technically should be my team since Scott went there and my Grandpa C's wife was like Dean over the women or something and her kids have tons of connections with the heads of the school) beat the Y. I think that might be conference weekend when we're at the cabin. Not sure but yeah... I will avoid the Provo area like the plague. Do not want to be in that traffic. Anyway... yahoo for the big rivalry game that is in the past... until next year.
Last Friday I had gone to my parents and helped with some canning. We did peaches and pears. Oh so good. The bartlets we got from Brigham City were really good too. Then Sat I took Charlotte over and we helped my mom pick all the apples off the ground and from their trees. We also got some pears. They have a red anjou tree so we were hoping to try canning those but my mom read they need to sit a week or something after they are picked. After Charlotte's nap we were going back for dinner and Charlotte and I helped pick some veggies in the garden. My parents were super busy that day. My dad bought a cord of firewood for the winter so he was trying to clean out an area of the garage for that. So Charlotte and I picked a ton of cherry tomatoes and only like 3 beefsteaks. Then we picked a bunch of bell peppers and TONS of jalapenos. Some of the jalapenos were red. I wanted to try it and they're so good. Like a red bell with a bite. The first couple bites were so good but I think when I cut it open I must have cracked open a seed because the last little bit off the tip was ridiculous and sooooo hot. I about died. Then the genius in me used my thumb nail to scrape out the seeds and under my nail it burned for like a day or two. Yeah... smart. Oh and we also picked some of the biggest zucchini I have ever seen. We had cut up some stuff and then used this little machine my parents have to basically vacuum seal it in plastic and freeze it. So whenever you need like a cup of bell peppers just bust open a little bag and you've got it a diced up and ready to cook. We've learned a lot this year about planting stuff and what works and what doesn't. So we should be able to do better next year.
As far as my pregnancy things are still good. I feel great and I'm starting to feel the baby move a lot more. The only issue I have is my tailbone like last time but definitely not as bad as last time. At least not yet. So I can't complain really. I'm super lucky to feel so good. Except for maybe tired. I swear I can't sleep enough but I get by. I also feel like I'm so much bigger already. I'm 18 weeks but definitely showing. I know you do anyway with each kid but I don't know. I seriously feel so big and don't weigh as much as I did with Charlotte. I'll be huge by the end. I'll probably try to post a pic around 20 weeks (technically almost 21) when we find out what we're having. Yahoo! Oct 10th!
Charlotte is still my bug. Still active. One thing I wanted to make sure I got in here was Charlotte's sleeping ritual. She's really funny. I swear this kid will not relax unless I "pet hair" and "pet neck" and "pet back." Or so she calls it. She likes when I first run my fingers through her hair. It starts the relaxation mode. Then she likes when I give her a little neck massage or squeeze. After that I have to just kind of rub her back. Then she usually wants me to hold each had and I kind of rub my thumb back and forth on the top of her hand. Sometimes she'll fall asleep holding my hand. On a really good day the process takes 15 to 20 min sometimes longer. But I have to do that stuff at least once to get her to mellow out and just relax in her bed. Oh and she tells me what to do and when. She's a little bossy :)
Scott's been busy with work and his calling. Sunday he had a meeting right after church that lasted an hour and a half then a Court of Honor that evening. Yesterday he worked a 16 hour shift! Crazy! He started at 3am and got home a little after 7pm. He's busy today too. Hopefully he'll be off at like 5 which will give him 12 hours and then he can get Charlotte from me where I'll be setting up for a RS dinner tonight starting at 4:30pm. If he has routes to do he might have to take Charlotte with him if it'll be longer because our dinner starts at 6:30 and he said if he has routes he won't be off until then. But he's done it with Charlotte before so it wouldn't be the worst. Poor guy is always busy. At least Charlotte had a good nap. She slept 2 hours and just got up a few min ago. I had just enough time to get most of my stuff done. Still have some potatoes to finish cutting up but Charlotte came into my room to sleep another hour so I had to be there so she wouldn't freak out and wake up. Gave me a chance to catch up on blogging.
I should have plenty to update on. I have a YW volleyball meeting Thurs night and Fri night is our neighborhood block party. Then who knows what this weekend holds. Oh and the following weekend we scored the cabin one last time before they close it up. Conference weekend! Yahoo! Which means Alpine Loop and amazing fall colors and a hopefully more relaxing trip than last time. Scott is gonna take Fri off so we're hoping to get there Thurs afternoon/evening. So excited!
