We tried to potty train. That lasted about 5 to 6 hours. I had barely the slept the previous two nights and was sick and could hardly stay awake while I waited for her to use the potty. We would sit there for 20 min or 40 min and only once did I barely get her to go. She slightly tinkled. We got super excited and put a star sticker on her chart and then she peed a ton in her undies. Thank goodness for those waterproof covers. Just after noon I was done. She wouldn't even tell me when she had an accident. I had a lot of stuff to do around the house that day but felt like I kept a close watch on her but I guess it just wasn't enough. So we stopped and I decided to wait until I finally got rid of my cold and felt I could function in a day. So now that I'm feeling better she of course starts to teethe. Her top two molars have already been coming in and now we've got the bottom two. Thank goodness. It's about time. Which would probably explain the freak out she had in the middle of the night the other night.
She has been doing amazing sleeping through the night. Even if she does wake up a little or cry she stays in her bed and will usually just fall back asleep. Except for our incident Friday night I thought it was. Scott was gone all day Friday at the Ute game with a guy from our ward. I spent the day at my parents. I also ended up going with my dad to pick out a tree. It was a long day and Charlotte didn't nap. She crashed that night but woke up crying. It kept escalating to the point where you would think this child was possessed. We could not calm her down. Scott finally took her to the rocking chair and held her and she started to calm down. Then I took her and she kinda laid with me on the couch but then told me she wanted her pillow and her bed. Seriously?! Of course! So I laid her in her bed and she was fine. Within the next half hour she was out. My guess is teething. Since then she's been doing ok. I am just so glad we can sleep at night and she doesn't come in anymore until about 7am (on Sun she let us sleep until 8! It was amazing! We got like 10 hrs of sleep!). Things are coming together nicely before the baby comes. Once we do the potty training thing we will be set!
Charlotte is getting really excited for Christmas. We bought her a slide. I think she'll use it all the time and it'll help to release her energy when I can't always go out. Especially once the baby comes. Our plan is to put that out with this big teddy bear my mom got at toys r us. A tradition my family always had was opening up one gift Christmas eve. I think I might get Charlotte a Yo Gabba Gabba bed set. She really loves that show and I think she'll love her bed even more. So we might do that and then we can put it on her bed that night. Then she'll have a couple other small gifts I got with Disney movie reward points. She'll get a Winnie the Pooh pillow pet thing and then a Tangled toy tote. I figure that will come handy with organization. Oh and her stocking. Probably some candy and little dollar store stuff.
One other thing before I forget. When I was sick I noticed one afternoon that Charlotte's eyes were getting goopy. So I took her in to get her some drops. Probably the worst dr. visit ever. I just met with a PA. Charlotte would hardly let them weigh her. The poor nurse could hardly get her height or temp. She screamed the whole time. I could barely calm her down. Then when the PA came in and she was doing slightly better but Charlotte wouldn't let her hear her heart and was just screaming and freaking out. I wasn't feeling the best so it really made it difficult for me and Scott was working so it was just the two of us. We got the eye drops and I got a referral too. I think I mentioned before about Charlotte's thumb. Her left thumb doesn't extend. We don't know if she was just born that way or she injured it. I never remember her complaining about it so who knows. It doesn't affect her much now but in the future it will. She couldn't type. She's right handed so she'll be okay learning to write. Probably won't bug her much until she's older and in school but we do need to eventually get it looked at. The PA told us Primary Children's would be best. She said they'd have the best Orthopedics for kids. So I eventually need to call and get it looked at. I might wait until Charlotte's a little older so she'll cooperate a little better.
I think that's about all as far as I can think of. Every day there is something new and she never stops making us laugh. I need to record her reading "It looked like spilt milk." I got that book in kindergarten. She is so funny. I showed Scott last night how she reads with you and she just laughs. It's cute. I have pictures to get up too. We had also been to Disney on Ice and she still asks to go back. If I'm lucky I can do it all today....we shall see!
