Hanging out at the farm

My parent's have been keeping their horses at a friend's house in Erda down the street from where they were living. The couple living there was going to be gone a couple days and asked my mom to take care of their animals. They basically have their own little farm. Its awesome. They have llamas, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, a bunny, and a pond with fish. They have a really neat log cabin looking home. They have neat landscaping complete with a pond and a garden. They have their own bees and got 7 gallons of honey this year from them! 7 gallons! Its just a neat place to be. So we spent some time going down to help my mom. In the evening the chickens had to be rounded up and put into their pens. Same with the geese and ducks. Eggs had to be collected. Animals fed and watered. It was really fun to do. And we even got some riding time in Saturday evening which was fun. It's been forever since I rode! Being pregnant and all. I'm sure I'll do more once my parents have their own house. I took plenty of pics from our little adventures. Charlotte had a blast being around all the animals. And my mom has already started looking into breeds of chickens for when they have their own house. I'm so excited! The chickens are so cute! One of 'em would always make these funny noises. It cracked me up. So here's our pics from our weekend adventure:

Here is the queen herself, Mouse. She's the mom and she is gorgeous. You should see this girl after a bath in the sun. Her hair literally sparkles. She's beautiful.

Here is Dove, her baby. She is probably the sweetest horse you will ever meet. She's never known anything or anyone bad. She thinks the world is perfect and is definitely lovey Dovey. Never met a nosier horse but she just loves to be around people and see what you're up to.

These are the "babies." The one looking at me is Geoffrey (he is like a year old or so I think) and the one next to him is the newest baby, Pepper, I believe.

One of the roosters, Beethoven.

 Chicken party!

Charlotte getting her turn.

It is a miracle we ever caught this chicken. They're polish hens and buggers to catch! We could never catch the other one who looked just like a road runner. But they're so cool!
Charlotte petting Maverick. He's a sweet BIG dog. And Clem to the right is a sweet boy too.

This was the second day in the morning. She was catching chickens on her own. And she had gotten a small scratch on her nose and insisted on the dang band aid... what is it with kids and band aids?
 Feeding baby Pepper
I went in to check for eggs and see if all the chickens were out and she was chillin' on her nest. Later on when I came back she had been hoarding 6 eggs! We got to take 3 home to eat. They eat all the eggs their animals drop. So ducks, geese and chicken eggs. Sometimes there is a ton. We only found chicken ones this time.
These are the "babies." They are definitely bigger than little chicks but they still make the cute little peep sounds. They're adorable!
Charlotte wanted to ride by herself which was basically me walking her around.
Then I got on to ride around a bit with her.

And when we were putting the chickens away we came over to find this guy. I think his name is Foghorn. Somehow he got up there. Not sure how but crazy bird! He's so funny though. He doesn't want you to catch him but he'll follow you around just curious what you're up to. I had a chicken under each arm and was carrying them back here and he just followed me over. He is a funny little rooster.
