Some random things...

Some random pictures
I saw Dragon fruit at the store and I had never tried it so Charlotte and I were adventurous. It was pretty good! Expensive though!
Chloe and I went out on Black Friday. I was trying to track down Scott's gift but was unsuccessful. I also needed to go to Costco and Winco for groceries. And Costco hands out free cookbooks on Black Friday so I was so there! Anyway, when we got in the car after Winco this gem was parked across from us and we were laughing. This is like something you'd find in Tooele. This gem was in West Valley though. I love the batman stuff on it.

And the baby shoe and handcuffs? What the heck? So random. But we had a good laugh.

Recently I've been trying to re-purpose some of our existing stuff to try and match some other stuff better. This was an entertainment center we got from Scott's grandparent's when we first got married. I decided to go black. So it took me about 3 days to do. It was cold and didn't turn out perfect but we really like it. We were kind of nervous making a big change like that but I'm glad we did it.
We took off the glass door and got some new handles. We re-positioned some of the stuff to make it a little cleaner looking. The cd player speakers used to sit on top and I like this way better. And we're big Everybody Loves Raymond fans if you haven't seen :) We love that show.
I also had done our DVD case thing too. It was a light color before.
This was an old clock from Scott's grandma Spence. The goldish paint on it before was wearing off and the clock has trouble keeping time but it still kinda works. It sat for years in her house not working. But when she had moved out we decided to take it. I love this kind of stuff and I really like how it turned out black. Scott was surprised how good it turned out too.
It the middle of my black spray paint frenzy I also did a couple frames that needed some matching. Looks better now.

This was a mirror from Grandma Spence's. It was a gold color too. Then I had these frames in the hall with different colors. I went with something a little newer and made up these new ones. I'd love to get this fabric and make curtains. Or if I can find some in a yellowy color to match. Work in progress the living room is :) (was that just a Yoda-like statement?)
This one was a lot harder to do. It has this red velvety stuff. And I know to take the mirror off would have been difficult so I had to tape paper over and be careful. I ended up using a black stain on the inner gold part so it looks kind of antique-ish. This one hangs in our hallway.
I've hated all the brassy stuff in this house. Good old builders grade. So I spray painted this black. I want to do all our lights in the living room area like this. But I need the assistance of my dad to help unhook the power. I don't want to take a risk with electricity. I get nervous. Of course I found a nice silver one at DI for $8 a couple weeks later and it was in really good shape. But I didn't get it. I really didn't need it and I just went through all the work of doing this one. It just figures though.

So It's been a spray painting party. I'm getting crazy with the spray paint but its such an easy way to do stuff and cheaper than buying new stuff!
