Temple Square lights 2012

We made it to Temple Square this year and Charlotte actually behaved so we didn't have to leave. Of course it started to rain the day we went. But it wasn't too bad. We have the bike trailer that converts to a stroller so Jackson stayed nice and dry. Charlotte wanted to walk around herself. I grabbed a few pics. My lens kept fogging up so the pictures kept coming out all blurry. Oh well. Here's what I got.

Yeah I forgot about the reflective stuff on the stroller... nice...
 Charlotte wouldn't look at me

Jack Jack crashed. He was so tired.

Scott's shoe broke so we had to kind of hurry up our trip. Then Jackson was getting hungry so we decided to stop in WVC at Del Taco for dinner. We happened to run into a lady from Scott's work. Then made it home in time to bathe the kids and put them to bed. It was nice to spend time together as a family especially as we're celebrating the Christmas season. We've been trying to focus on the true meaning of Christmas this year. They had a countdown thing in the Friend about different gifts we can give the Savior. It worked out perfect because I used the poem "The White Stocking" for my YW lesson and had made small paper stockings with the poem on them that you could put your gifts into that are meant for the Savior. So I cut out all these little gifts out of the friend and taped them to the wall and we've been doing one each night since the 11th. It's been nice to have a little reminder each day about things we can do for the Savior to celebrate his birth. Here's the poem below:

T’was the night before Christmas as I walked through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The presents had been wrapped and placed under the tree. I paused, tired, excited, and then giggled with glee. The stockings were hanging and were beautifully filled. No one had been forgotten, though the credit card was billed. As I looked at the scene with the stockings on the ledge. I noticed one was empty, the one on the edge. Where’s the Spirit of Christmas? What have I done? The children’s stockings are all full, except for this one. It was the stocking intended for the child of Bethlehem. The White stocking for Jesus that was hung up by them. Of all the people at Christmas that might be forgotten. How could I not remember the Fathers Only Begotten? Only He had been left out of the festivities. As we planned and prepared all, for our families. As I pondered, I realized this just was not right! It was His birth that was being celebrated, after this night. I resolved then and there to remember the Lord. And quickly made changes that were easy to afford. I hung the white stocking in a special place in our home. And corrected the atmosphere to provide a more spiritual tone. On Christmas morning I gathered the family together and each of us wrote on a special piece of paper. We gave Jesus a gift which we placed in the stocking. A sincere change of heart, not there for the mocking. The white stocking hung in our home as a symbol for us.  Of the true meaning of Christmas, the Savior, The Lord Jesus. So take your white stocking and hang it with pride. Remember the Savior, put his gift inside.
