Jackson's 1st Birthday

My little dude is officially one year old! Wow! I swear it has not been a year! Here is a pic of the dude eating lunch after church on his bday.

Sunday Feb 17th was a crazy one! I had to teach the Beehives and give a talk talking about the Lord hastening his work and how the new youth curriculum "Come Follow Me" is an example of that. I don't get nervous about talking in church anymore. I get really excited. So I was really only stressed because I just had to try and do both and keep them both separate in my mind. Which was really hard to do. There is a lot that goes into these new lessons and I was mentally exhausted after church. So once Jackson went down for a nap I needed to just do something that did not use m brain much. So I played some Sims on the xbox then crashed for a nap. Oh how I needed that nap! Scott took one too and Charlotte was good and just watched something so we could rest. We all woke up a little later than planned. Scott had to run to his parent's to record the All Star game and we were going to grab the truck but decided to do that after dinner and stuff at my parent's. We ended up rushing around and I forgot my dang camera at home and a candle for Jackson's cake. So these pictures are ones my mom had posted on facebook. We used her camera. And all we could find was a #2 candle so Jackson got to jump ahead a year! Whoops! It was one of those days. But we had a nice evening with my family doing dinner and cake and ice cream. Jackson was not a huge fan of the cake. He didn't want it. He kept squishing it in his hands but then wasn't liking having his hands too dirty. So anyway here are the few pics we took...

He has a lot of hand me down toys from Charlotte (sadly some are pink... sorry dude!) but we got him a couple toys that are more boy like toys. I really didn't want to get him too much so we opted for some clothes too. So hopefully with what we got and what I've bought he should be set through summer.

The day after his bday he had his well child check up. He is 30.5 in 19 lbs 13 oz I think. 95th% height and 15th% weight. About the same. He is full on walking and he is fast. If he could run he would. Sometimes I have to run when he grabs something he shouldn't have and takes off the down the hall. This boy is like a little speedy gonzales. He climbs too. Under and over. If he can pull himself up on it he will. He can say Mom, Dad, hey, ball and here. He mainly says Dad though. When he's not thinking about it real words slip out but when you try to get him to talk it always turns into Dad. And he thinks its super funny. The doctor said he looks really good minus the left tear duct which will not open. Boo! So he referred us to Primary Children's Ophthalmology. We are going to go to the one in Riverton because they have an appt sooner that the hospital. So Fri March 8th we'll head out for that. They said they dilate their eyes so plan on 2-3 hours for the appt. But I'm thinking that won't really apply to Jackson because his isn't his eyes. Just his tear duct. I don't know. We'll see. Jackson is a good sport though and the only time he ever cries at the dr's office is when he gets his shots. Hopefully it won't be too bad of an appt.

Jackson is now on whole milk. Took him a couple days to take to it but he loves it now. He sleeps through the night again. He's done pretty well overall with that his first year. He's basically off baby food now. It's so expensive and there is enough I can give him to eat even though he still only has 4 teeth. He's got his other top two getting super close to coming in so it'll get easier soon. He eats just about anything right now. I think that's about it for the dude. I just can't believe we've already hit a year! Happy Birthday little man!
