We spent a lot of time hanging out at my mom's while the kids were out. We always love being with the animals. Well at least I do! :) Sadly we came down one day and my parent's dog had killed one of the ducks. The ducks were pretty mean to her in her defense. They chased her a lot and if you wore flip flops they'd bite at your toes and chase you. It was a pretty sad day. Jetta can't be out there with them anymore. My mom was actually right there when it happened. Jetta has pinned them down before but she lost it this time. My mom could not get her off and she broke the ducks neck. Pretty sad. So they buried Apache and Pistol was the only one left. He seemed pretty sad but my mom found a guy in Farr West who was getting rid of 3 females. It was a really good thing. The guy didn't even feed them any additional food. He just let them forage on his property. Sad! So a really good thing came out of a bad situation. Pistol is a different duck. He was much more aggressive before. He's calmed down a lot and loves having his 3 girls follow him around. They are not used to humans so they won't come near you but they are sweet. Pistol will let you pet him if you catch up to him but he's still not super fond of being held. I like forcible duck hugs though. Same with the chickens. They're fun to cuddle. So these were before when it was Pistol and Apache. I don't think I have any new pics of the girl ducks.

These girls are hard to catch and hard to hold. But it is fun to try!
James Bond is the rooster on the left. He's the head rooster. We just call him James. He can be sweet but is becoming very protective of his girls. We have to watch him around the kids to make sure he knows to leave them alone because they're smaller and he looks at them as competition.
This is Raptor. He was the "exotic" chick they throw in extra. He got his cone and tail feathers a lot quicker than James so we knew he was a rooster when he was younger. He's smaller than James but so funny to watch. He has a small group of girls he follows around.
Ducks hugs! I love it!
James again. He's always close to his girls.
This is a dove egg up in my parent's apple tree. I forgot to check for it yesterday but I'm pretty sure its not going to hatch. It's been a while. Poor mama dove.
The stalkers chasing me to the door.
James is such a stalker. He pecks at the window sometimes. When you come out of the house they all gather around looking to see if you have food. Funny chickens.
Jetta is such a baby. Hard to think this dog killed the duck but she really put up with a lot from them and then she showed them who was boss.
