First off, I am trying to get healthier. We are eating healthier. We are exercising more. I still have a long way to go and its going to take time but in the meantime I watch past seasons of the biggest loser while I work out. I walk to church every Sunday and to mutual every week. Now to volleyball practice and games. Every opportunity where I can exercise I do it. I have only lost 9 lbs and I'm still losing inches. Like how about a 41 around my stomach ( I guess natural waist-ish) down to a 37 today! Not too bad. Plus inches around my neck, arms, chest, thighs and calves. I feel pretty accomplished. I can't wait to head down to St. George this weekend for 10 days. I'll be working out like crazy. We can ride our bike and run and walk. There is a little exercise park I wanna try out. I'm so excited to feel athletic again.
Second, church. Lots and lots of church stuff. Every Monday is volleyball practice with the girls. Last Tues. I went to the family history library to learn how to work on some stuff. We have been told the temple is running out of names for the youth to do so if we go and don't bring family names then they only get to do one or two. So we're trying to get some names to take on our last trip for the year next month. Then each Wed. I have mutual. Thursdays I have girls volleyball games. Fridays and Saturdays are our time together most of the time. Trying to make up for the "Hey, how's it going... good luck... and see ya later" that is so often said in passing. Sundays are meetings and church and usually time spent with family. Then there is visiting teaching and home teaching squeezed in there somewhere and every now and again Scott's second calling of scout stuff. It gets busy but it feels good to serve others in those callings.
Third, new hobbies. I have been trying to learn how to sew. I have suddenly had an urge and I tried on my mom's old machine she gave me but kept having issues and getting really frustrated. After multiple fails I asked my mom and we have discovered an issue but don't know how to fix it. She let me borrow her new machine and as of today I'm finally getting the hang of it. I even modified a couple shirts that were too big and weird fitting and tried to make it better. It's not bad for someone who has never sewn before. I'm excited to figure it out. I also finally finished a project I've had for almost a year now. It was from Super Sat. last year. Tomorrow I'm trying this bleach thing on shirts. The beehives want to do quotes and scriptures on shirts this Wed so I'm testing it out tomorrow. Should be fun. I'm having fun learning new things and getting a little bit craftier. But I must say, sewing is not as easy as it seems! It sure takes practice!
Fourth, getting better at daily righteous habits. Our new goals are reading a chapter from the Book of Mormon with the kids each night and studying on our own from Doctrine and Covenants with the student manual. I am also reading and studying the Book of Mormon on my own for my Virtue project and for next years camp challenge. I can't say enough how much happier I feel making more of an effort focusing on my health both physically and spiritually. It's not always easy but when I'm doing my best it just seems like things go better and I can deal with the problems easier. It just strengthens my testimony so much more each time I make the effort.
So although it seems hard each day to try and get it all done, I do my best and sometimes feel like I might lose my mind. But this Friday for we get to get away to my in-laws condo in Ivins. I am so excited. Scott has put in some crazy hours recently and we haven't been on a date since our anniversary (I don't count the youth temple trip since we hardly even got to see each other while at the temple). The kids miss him. Charlotte tells me how much she misses him each day. So we need some good family time to re-group and refresh ourselves. I am so excited. It'll be so nice. And hopefully I can get other pics posted I've been meaning to. So hopefully I'll get that done while away from home. Oh and Charlotte let me cut her hair tonight for the first time EVER! It was getting way long and tangled all the time and now it's like a bob. I'll post pics eventually! :)
