Utah State Fair

On Sept 6th we went to the State Fair. It was technically my mom's bday but she wanted to wait until Sunday to celebrate so Charlotte and I went with my dad and sister to the fair that night. Now you'd think for a state fair it'd be pretty big but its smaller than the LA County fair. Just some things can't compare to that fair. The best fried zucchini. Amazing pool and yard displays. The animals were fun and the fresh chocolate milk. There was horse racing and just lots and lots to look at. I miss it. The state fair hardly compares but it is still fun to see Charlotte get excited to see the animals. Which is mainly what we looked at since there really isn't much else to do unless you go on rides or play games.

As we were walking in there was a lady body builder in front of us. Her muscles were crazy!

I love the Jersey's! I think they're so cute!

Looks like somebody got in trouble! :)

The sheep were so cute! Stinky but cute!

Who doesn't love baby pigs! They were hilarious too. They were running around like crazy. It was just like sticking a bunch of sugared up 2 yr olds in a cage.

Oh and since we didn't celebrate my mom's bday that day, we had dinner on Sunday and I made her cake. This glorious German Chocolate Cake.

Recipe from here: http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/german-chocolate-cake

I was kind of running out of time so my frosting was still a little on the warm side but man did it all taste good. Very very rich. A small slice is a lot. I figured out the calorie count for this cake. 1/12th is over 900 cal. It's bad. Definitely something you only have once a year but oh so good!
