Ivins trip 9/27-9/28

We spent 10 days down in Ivins and I took a bunch of pictures. So I'm trying to split up the days in the easiest way possible which might take me a couple days but I'll get it done eventually.

We left Friday afternoon the 27th. Scott got off at noon and we left at like 1 or 1:30. We bought dvd players. You can either play the movie off of just one machine and watch on two screens or play two separate dvds. It made the trip a lot easier. It's not a super duper long drive but with stops can be anywhere from 5-6 hours with the kids. The kids did surprisingly well and the dvd players sure helped the ride down. We stopped at the Cove Fort exit to take Charlotte potty. When we were coming out this guy from Saskatchewan turned too sharp and busted the side of his trailer on one of those cement poles that protect the pumps. Of course it was on the pump right behind us so me and my bikes on back with the help of gas station employees had to help me back up without hitting the guy's trailer. Awesome dude. Thanks for the extra 10 min wait.

The rest of the drive down was fairly pain free. We were ready for dinner as we got into town so we hit up Jack in the Box for dinner and then headed to Ivins.

The next day we got up and ran a mile to this fitness park. We let the kids run around and then did all the exercises then ran back to the condo which was about a mile. The next day we would really regret doing the ab exercises. My abs hurt bad all week. After that I wanted to check out the farmer's market at Tuacahn. Last year they had these people selling pictures super cheap. Like way way cheaper than you'd buy at Deseret Book or Seagull. They weren't there though. Bummer. So we just walked around a bit.

After that we went back for Jackson's nap and I did some grocery shopping. Then that afternoon we drove around looking for a park. The one we were going to go to looked kinda crowded so we found this other one. It was nice and quiet.

This sign made me laugh. Cats? Has this been an issue in the past? Haha!

Scott is always a kid at heart. Love that about him. I was getting him to do all kinds of stuff.

I looked over and saw that the trees looked like climbing trees. So I convinced Scott to climb.

Then we got Charlotte climbing too

And Jackson...

That evening was the Relief Society broadcast and I really wanted to go so we found out where a stake center was and I had a nice walk there and back. As I was walking up to the building though I saw something so sad. There was this big raven that had something in his beak and he was in the road with this falcon right by him. I could tell it was a dead baby bird. I'm pretty sure falcons and ravens don't hang around waiting to share food so I'm thinking the raven had a dead baby falcon. It was pretty sad to see the way the falcon was acting while this raven pecked at the baby. At least the meeting had some good messages because I can so easily get bummed out by stuff like that. I love animals! But the broadcast was really good and I was able to take some good notes and just enjoy some quiet time to myself.
