Valentines Day And Our Washer

We'll start with Valentine's Day. It had been a long week. I was busy getting stuff done for New Beginnings on Wed and Scott had a boys bball game and I had a girls bball game  plus all the laundry I had to do at my parent's in between. Thursday I was going to have the kids make some cards and get some treats at the store to leave in Scott's car so when he left for work they were there. Totally failed. I felt like I was getting sick. It felt exactly as it did the first time I got sick in Dec and then again later that month. I was so tired and exhausted and I just couldn't do it. When we came home that Thursday, I put Jackson down for a nap then I crashed on the couch. I was so tired! I never nap! So come Friday I still wanted to do something for him. So the kids and I made cards after breakfast and then went to the store for a few goodies. We made one stop at Arby's because he loves those chocolate turnovers (so good but DO NOT check the nutritional information... it will make you sad). So we left him a box of chocolates (Charlotte's pick), the turnover, a couple Reese's hearts and some tube of these hershey's candy coated things like m&ms and all our cards. We also found some cheap window stickers that we stuck all over his windows on his car. So we did that and then headed home to hopefully get the house cleaned before he came home.

Well I didn't get too far cleaning. I really was not feeling good and the kids weren't being the most cooperative. So Scott ended up helping dust when he came home since I didn't have that done. I opted not to do the floors since my dad was coming by the next day to help with the washer and I had a feeling it'd get messy. We sat around most of the afternoon just hanging out. We were going to play bball but I felt horrible. Then Scott fell asleep later on and I was so not wanting to cook so I was going to take the kids with me to Cafe Rio and get dinner and bring it home to surprise him. But because my darling angels decide to not get along at the most awesome times, they woke him up as we tried to head out the door. Oh well. Then the food was not good. The quality was not what it should be. The side of rice and beans was not full. The rice was seriously half full. It was depressing. Scott left for a bit to go record something from all star weekend and the kids were not being very helpful. I thought if I got them in the bath I'd be able to eat but alas, they decided to try to empty all contents of their bath onto the floor of the bathroom. So by the time I got around to eating, my salad really was not good at all. I didn't finish it and threw most of it out. It seems like such a waste. Still need to email them. I was looking forward to sleeping that night. I felt so sick and the kids were exhausting so I was done. It also didn't help that my time of the month decided to come around so being sick and on my period is really not fun. I have felt drained since last week

Saturday my parent's came down. My mom and I went to the store to get stuff for Jackson's bday party and pick up his cake while my dad worked on the washer and also worked on an electrical issue we had in the house. Once we got back we realized what we thought was a bad outlet was a bad lamp. Something happened and it kept tripping our breaker and having issues so we had to dump our living room lamp which had been a great source of light in our living room. The builders of these homes didn't make the best lighting choices. Luckily we have a spare end table and a lamp both from my grandpa's storage unit so up from the basemen they came and light we again have. Now the washer... oy... they let me start it up. First problem, it leaked all over then they never hooked up the drain and more water sprayed everywhere. So every single piece of fabric I owned that wasn't used for bathing was used to soak up all the water. There was A LOT! Good news was it drained but we couldn't unlock it still. Great. So we tear into it again and find the code and figured out it also needs a new door lock mechanism. I thought it was going to be another $75 but we found one for $25. Hoping that it'll work when it comes.

Once again I'm doing laundry at my parents. Hopefully just one more week then we'll be good to go. Exciting, right? Never a dull moment in the Spence household! :)
