My 30th Birthday

Ugh... what a day it was... definitely one I'd prefer to forget not because I'm 30 but because it was just a day and I was exhausted. I got up early and exercised and threw in a load of laundry. Scott had decided to surprise me this year and just not say what we were doing for my bday. He made plans for his parents to watch the kids. There was a food drop that morning so me and the kids headed out to pick up food. As soon as we pull out of the driveway my car dies and starts flashing all these lights. Seriously? What the heck. I didn't know what to do so I let it just go backwards until it made it back up in the driveway. I just sat there not knowing what to do. So turned the car off and turned it back on and it ran just fine. Weird. Really really weird. I've had a couple other issues and it seems like there is a short somewhere. That's not good but I'm not getting it fixed. I can't pay for that. I'll keep driving it until it dies even if it has issues in between. I currently have no stereo in it now until I fix that which isn't bad. It won't cost me anything. But we did make it to the food drop and the kids did pretty good. They had a lot of good stuff there. It was great and so helpful to our food stash for the next couple weeks. We came home and I put stuff away and noticed something was up with the washer. Great... I was going to start cleaning but had to figure this out. I had a big load in there. I have two pairs of jeans that fit me and another that is too big and another too small. I was wearing one of the good ones that fit and the other was in the washer. Fantastic. I need it out! At first I thought the door lock was stuck. Couldn't find anything online. Couldn't even find my model number. Found it on some paperwork since I can't open the door to get it from the inside of the washer. Still couldn't find answers online.

So I finally get Jackson down for a nap and I just sit down in front of the washer and turn on a full cycle to see what the heck is going on. Way worse than I thought. It's not just not unlocking, its not draining. So I start pulling this thing apart. Maybe its just a clogged pump. At some point Scott makes it home and tries to help me. We pull all the hoses off take off the pump and clean everything out. I guess my buckets are still at my parents so I burned through the junk towels I have to soak up water since I couldn't drain it into buckets. Once we cleaned it all out we still had issues. I found a tech sheet and was able to check the code and found out that we needed a new control board. Oy... I found one for about $120 with tax and shipping. Not bad. Then I needed a new striker for the door since the next day Scott and I busted it trying to get the clothes out so I could dry them. That was only $6. But back to my actual bday... I spent about 5 hours working on the dang thing until I realized I couldn't do anything that day and I needed to clean the house and get ready. Once the cleaning got done I had about 45 min to hurry and get ready. I felt bad that I wasn't more excited. It was a rough morning and the pants I was wearing got dirty and wet while messing with the washer so I was going to have to wear pants I hate. Just not my day.

So we ended up going to the roof. We were a few min late past our reservation but it was okay. I can't complain about this view:

After that we just stopped off in West Valley at Toys R Us so I could pick Jackson out something for his birthday. We found a guitar toy for like $8 on clearance and a small magnadoodle we could take to church for about $10. Scott's parents were super generous and gave me some money to put towards our dinner (the Roof is always pricey but so good!) and some I could put towards something I wanted to get myself. And I definitely did!

Saturday I spent the day doing laundry since I was without a washer. Sunday we celebrated with my family. My brother got me a $40 walmart gift card which was great. Bought my exercise step with that. My mom gave me $25 to Amazon, a burner for oils, a book on aromatherapy, a set of oils, some almond carrier oil and the most amazing pure shea butter. It's been fun doing all this stuff. I've really been getting into the oil thing. Its amazing what they can do! So my birthday wasn't the greatest day but it was nice to go out with Scott and have some time to ourselves since we rarely ever do!
