Feb, March and some April

Look at me, holy cow! I really need to do this monthly. So much easier than waiting almost 3 months. I think the best way to do this is post all my pictures from my phone and then I'll remember what we've been up to!

I've been doing a couple biggest loser challenges and trying to get healthier. Always a battle for me but I keep going. I was wearing this shirt one morning while exercising and brought back some memories. Good 'ol home ward of SS1. #22 on the back of course! :)

Fridays Scott is usually off work early so we can walk to school together to pick up Charlotte. Always nice the little bits of family time we get.

We went to the church to play bball a bit and I actually beat Scott this day. I just got lucky his shots were off and he could have driven past me every time but technically I won! :)

Took this on our 9th anniversary of our engagement. Holy cow! 10 is creeping up on us fast!

Scott's mom picked up some alfajores from a store in SLC and we each got one. So yummy!

I got a lot of money for my birthday so I bought myself a new digital scale that is way more accurate than my last one. Also got a spiralizer. I can now make healthy veggies noodles instead of eating all the carbs in regular noodles. FYI it also is great for curly fries. We tried some since my parent's have a fryer. Yeah, they were dang good and super fresh. Guess I should add in that for my bday we didn't do much. Scott got a new additional calling as the stake young men's sports director. Which means our weekends have had way less family time than we had before. He was basically told they need to start up something for the boys asap which meant that games were scheduled most Sat through May and some Fridays. So my birthday was one of those days. He had bball from 1-5:30ish I think and by the time we got the kids fed and over to my in-laws we only had time to go out to dinner. We just went to applebees in town because we had a gift card. It was better than I expected. I used to hate the applebees here but its better than it used to be. I really wanted to go to the movies too because we haven't done that since before Charlotte was born. But by the time we ate, all the movies we thought about seeing had already started and would have had to get back to the kids between 8-9 so they wouldn't be grumpy and could go to bed. So yeah, it was kind of a bummer because I wanted to do so much more but with little kids and callings there is only so much you can do. Someday they'll grow up and things will be easier in some ways. For now, quick dinner dates in town is all we get.

So our Mia Maids wanted to do a bigger or better scavenger hunt. Our group scored this snow blower and it actually works! We were laughing pretty hard about it but the guy let us take it so we talked to the bishop and he was able to get it to a family that could use it. So not only did we have a super fun night hearing everyone's stories but even got to help someone in need! :)

For school Charlotte got to decorate a box for her valentines. This is what she wanted to do. Glitter, feathers and tulle,

Sat mornings for a while I'd go for a quick run. I've had to hold up on those recently because I'm pretty sure I have exercise induced asthma and its worse in the cold. The last time I ran in the cold I felt like I had fluid in my lungs for like 3 days but didn't feel sick at all. It was weird. But this was a pic one morning as I just made it back. Love our old school hoop but it does need to be repainted.

We usually celebrate Valentine's day with my birthday but this year Roots Tech fell on Valentine's Day. I got tickets for 50 for our ward and we actually used them all! I have never been so I didn't know what to expect. I ended up staying in the main hall the whole time and had a good spot up front and to the left of the stage. Elder Anderson added on to his temple challenge he had given the youth. He told everyone to take a picture of this and post it and share it. I love doing family history work and the experiences I have in the temple doing that work are incredible. I have felt my ancestors there and sometimes its hard not to just start bawling because you can feel them there. You know someone is with you and you can feel their excitement. It's seriously incredible. Roots Tech was a great experience and to hear from so many of the church leaders was awesome. At the end they had a presentation from Studio C which was so funny. The lip sync competition was hilarious. If you've never watched them on byutv you're missing out!

The pictures are not great because of my angle plus the camera guy but David Archuleta preformed in their lip sync skit too. Then he did a mini concert after. He sang a new song that was in spanish but sounded really good. He is amazing live! I always respected him for staying true to his beliefs despite his popularity from American Idol but was never a huge fan. He does have an amazing voice though and did a really great job closing out the session. The One Voice children's choir was also there and those kids are incredible too! So talented!

Jackson's birthday fell on a Tues this year so we decided to celebrate with my family on Sunday. Tuesdays are always long days for Scott so he's usually not home until 6:30 or 7. Then there was an RS meeting that night too so once Scott got home I went to that because they were handing out new routes for visiting teaching. My mom got him a Jake cake because he loves Jake. I think this is actually the same one we got last year too. Haha!

These were my first blooms... in February! We had such a warm winter this year. Not good! We have not had much snow around here and summer could be a tough one.

This kid loves having his picture taken. Love this guy. So glad he came to our family!

For a while I was really good at eating a lot of healthy stuff. Like just simple basic ingredients. Nothing packaged. Then I fell off the boat a bit and working on getting back on. I'll discuss more of that in another post.

Toby is always trying to eat my food. Little mooch!

My second counselor was getting ready to move and offered us their venus fly trap. How cool is that? So we are now the proud owners of one! We named her Sophia. Very cool plant and I have a lot to learn about them!

With a tax return coming we wanted to make some improvements in our home. We are going to be replacing our living room and hallway carpet with some stuff from Scott's brother's old house. Its in great shape unlike ours. So I wanted to paint before we end up doing that. I chose creamy mushroom for the walls and almond wisp for doors and trim. I love it. There was just too much white. Although I didn't mind it before I needed a change and we never painted when we moved in. So this makes our house feel more like a home. I love it so much. It was a lot of work and took a lot of time just to do the hallway, living room and laundry room because of the kids keeping me busy. But it looks so good. And the doors got updated doorknobs and hinges. No more brass!

For a while this owl friend was hanging around at my parent's. They have this little grove in the middle of the loop of their driveway and he was loving this one tree. It hasn't been around recently though.

Jack and his weird sleeping positions I find him in when I get up in the morning to exercise.

After 6 looooooong years we finally got Toby a bed. It was time to kick him out of ours. We sleep so much better now and he seems happier having his own space. We still catch him laying on there every now and again.

On our stake temple day we went to the temple to do initiatories. Unfortunately I only got to do one name because it was super duper busy down there. I had to leave so I could make the chapel session. So I'm anxious to go back and do more family names. But after the chapel session we decided to hit up Olive Garden downtown and use the gift card my sister got me for my bday. It was a nice evening away from the kids. We don't get many of those. They're usually just temple trips. So we treasure that time without interruptions.

We had the kids walk to stake conference to try and get wiggles out. Didn't seem to help much. Stake conference was rough and these two just wanted to fight. But they looked cute headed there!

One dish I made with zucchini noodles. Seriously my favorite.

Sometimes the chickens give us huge eggs!

I replaced half the lights in our house from the brassy ones to brushed nickel. So much better! My dad technically did all the work. I just assisted :)

Finally got my honor bee added on! That was a great accomplishment. The service part was fairly simple. I love personal progress and I love helping the girls but reading the Book of Mormon through in about 6 months (my goal) with two small kids is no easy task. But I learned the most I have ever learned this time around and strengthened my testimony more than ever. I have a greater love for the Book of Mormon and the prophets in there. They did amazing things! They have so much insight to offer to help us if we would just read and listen to them! They want to help us and this was their only way to try to reach out to us in this day. They know what we're up against. They saw us in our day. How can we ignore their pleas? After completing that I decided to try and earn my medallion again by the end of this year. We shall see! It won't be easy but I want to help more girls work on it and if I can be an example to them, I will. Anything to help my girls see the benefits of personal progress! Its an amazing program and I challenge every woman out there to do it. Whether you have your medallion or not. Everyone is invited to work on it and I promise you that you will see miracles in your life. And you know why? Because personal progress invites you to come unto Christ and by doing so, you will witness great miracles. I promise! :)

This was a card Charlotte made my brother. It says "when are my cousins coming back?" She misses them if you can't tell.

It got too warm too early and this is what happens. Spiders come inside! Sick!

Love when our trees starts blooming. It's totally the popcorn song, minus the apricot tree part. I think they're flowering pear trees.

This was my laundry room when I finished painting it. You can see I have yet to paint the kitchen but I'm thinking I'm going to do the color hummus. I have a thing for food paint names.

We had our dessert auction on March 21st. I made these two better than sex cakes (we called them better than anything). I think they went for like $40-$50 each.

I made two of these decadent peanut butter pies. I love this recipe. Super simple and soooo yummy. The link is here if you want it! http://www.jif.com/recipes/details/decadent-peanut-butter-pie-419
I think these went for like $20-$40 each. I can't remember exactly. Its possible it was more.

I did this cake last year and this year it went for $190. I think last year it was capped off at $50 or $60. This year we made sure there were no restrictions so we could earn as much as possible for our girls. We didn't know we were allowed to request money in our budget so we're hoping next year we won't even have to do a fundraiser like this because it is a lot of work but it does pay off for the girls.

This one went for $180 I think? Something like that. It's like the ones I've made in the past too. I love this cake. Yum!

The fluffy trees on our street full of blossoms. Spring is so pretty here!

With all the new paint I decided to customize my light switches. I'm all about my dean miller prints and love hawaiian surf prints. So why not put them on my light switches? Keeping a little beachiness around even though the closest beach is the Great Salt Lake!
One of my tulips. I love having bulbs for spring!

We love holding chickens. James isn't too thrilled but deep down he loves me.

Whenever I come over I have to get my horse cuddles in. I love Mouse and Dove so much. They are the best horses ever!

Had a stormy day and the sky looked all cool like this. Just all these clouds churning in the sky.

Every time I pull up this dude is running and sometimes flying over to "greet" me. He always pecks at me but I love him. One day I will catch him again!

Went over to my mom's to do some family history and Jet wanted to be in there so bad. There is a big table up to put all the family history stuff out on so Jetta climbed under it to get up on the bed. Just couldn't get away from us.

While Scott was at priesthood we dyed eggs. The kids were getting kind of crazy and I was exhausted from helping my dad trim trees and haul branches so this was just not very fun. Next year I'll plan better and not do so much on the same day. Kids had fun though!

Of course I did a little conference brunch. Made our best bite's strawberry croissant french toast and did some fresh bruchetta on a multigrain baguette. That bruchetta was bomb! I didn't get a pic but for the afternoon we have chicken enchiladas, lil smokies in bbq, pico de gallo with tortilla chips and deviled eggs. I was hoping to try avocado deviled eggs but ran out of time and also couldn't do my homemade jalepeno poppers but we had enough. Then we had dinner with my parents because it was my dad's 61st bday too.

Monday Charlotte wanted me to cut her hair. So I did. I really don't have any skill but I've watch my old hairdresser for years do my hair so I could do my best to replicate it. Not too shabby.

She wanted to dress up for school to show off her new hair since it had been spring break. She seems to love it.

Pic I took of Monty last night. Punk wouldn't eat but he's getting so big!

Jack always wants to walk to school to get Charlotte but always get tired. I end up carrying him at some point. Today he wanted to be on my shoulders. I probably went at least a quarter mile if not more with his 28 lbs on my shoulders. Got a pretty good workout!

Charlotte then wanted me to get pics of her and Jack. Little stinkers.

I know I have more pictures but I'm out of time for today. The kids interrupt me too much so it takes me a while to just this this post done. Hopefully tomorrow I can finish updating! :)
