So I had my dr appt last monday. Since I hadn't seen him in 2 months we had a lot of catching up to do! Basically, my due date keeps changing. It was originally Apr 30 then my first ultrasound said May 9. Then according to my second ultrasound it was May 12 but as the dr was checking me out he thinks sooner. He wanted to stick with Apr 30 but when I told him the dates my ovulation tests show positive he decided to meet halfway and now it's May 4 but he may change it still. He says depending on how much bigger I look at my appt on Mar 2 he may order another ultrasound. Plus I guess he has some convention thing going on from like May 3-6 so he may want to have me deliver sooner so he can be there. So I dunno, whatever, I'll just wait and see. As long as the baby is healthy whenever is fine by me. I'm sure I'll want it sooner when I'm that far along.
Well I thought they would have me take that glucose test while I was there but he wanted me to do it on an empty stomach so I had to drink it the next morning and come in. So I followed their directions exactly. I drank it at 8:15, showed up at the office at 8:45 and then they were gonna draw at 9:15. Scott couldn't go since he had to work and I thought I would be ok by myself... yeah, that was funny. So the nurse was asking how I was feeling. Quite honestly that stuff made me a little dizzy and a tad queasy but I figured it was because I didn't eat. So I told her that and she asked how I did with drawing blood. I told her they usually had a hard time trying to get a vein and sometimes I got lightheaded but I was usually ok. So she tried to see if she could find a vein in my arms. Couldn't get anything so she decided to try my hand which wasn't cooperating either. Finally she found something and pricked me and I was doing ok but then she was trying to dig around because it's like my body won't give up my blood. I don't know if she got one tube or not but she called another nurse over to get her another tube. I started getting really dizzy and I must have started going pale because the other nurse was standing on my other side asking if I was ok. At this point I'm still trying to shake it off and be all calm and cool. Then suddenly I was dreaming about something. It must have only been seconds later but I can hear the 2 nurses calling my name over and over. I opened my eyes and was really confused why I had this super sweet orange taste in my mouth. Then I look down and see orange all down the front of my shirt. I was sweating like crazy and felt like I had wet myself too! Embarassing!
So when I kinda start to put things together I realized I actually passsed out and puked all over myself while I was out and managed to pee my pants... thank goodness it was only a little since i went to the bathroom right before I left. One of the nurses looked like she was holding those smelling salt thingys. They asked if I was ok and I just said I needed to lay down. So once I kinda came outta it they said they would have to do another test some time but they would get me a gown to change into for now until I felt better. They took me in a back room and I got my shirt off and put the gown on. They were asking if I needed them to call anyone for me. The last thing I wanted to do was scare Scott to death at work. I told them once I felt ok I'd be fine to drive home. So after about a half hour of resting and making sure the baby was moving they let me go. So I got to take some more of that glucose drink and get to try again Monday morning. This time they told me to ignore the dr and have some eggs and toast before I come in. They also said they'd make sure I was laying down. I also have to drink myself to death tomorrow so I'll be like perma-full bladder tomorrow trying to make sure I'm plenty hydrated. But it should be fun. I just hope things go better.
It was just a great week for me. The next day Scott and I noticed our fridge stopped working. The freezer was still running but the fridge part wasn't cooling. Our kitchen started to smell so before I left for work I had to throw out a ton of food and that made me puke. One thing that sucks about pregnancy is being super sensitive to smell. But good news is my dad helped us fix the fridge so we didn't have to buy parts or a new one and then we got our tax return so we could buy more food and pay off some bills. So after a crappy start it ended well. I just hope this next one goes better with my second glucose test starting off the week. I'll have to keep you all updated.... good times!

I am so sorry you had such a horrible experience with the glucose test! However, you are lucky you can drink it at home and then go in! I had to drink it in front of the people at the lab and wait an hour there before they drew my blood! I was not allowed to leave!!! Not sure if they told you, but next time you go in, when they said you could eat, just make sure you don't eat anything with sugar in it! The last thing you want is to have to go in for the 3 hour test! As far as your due date goes...I think it would drive me crazy if they kept changing the date! (At least you may get an extra ultrasound outta it!) Good Luck with everything!
Ay yi yi. No fun at all! Oh the joys of pregnancy...somehow they are all worth it when you see that baby for the first time! By the way, Katelynn's birthday is May 4th. That would be fun. Good luck!!
ahhh! That's awful! You're such a trooper. I would have been a baby about the whole thing, especially being pregnant. Way to hang in there and good luck with the next test!
Omg I thought my surprise violating was bad! I wish I could be there with you! :)
Oh man Aud! That's so sad. I'd be so embarassed. =( I miss you and hope you start feeling better soon.
