I've been so busy lately cleaning like crazy. I just got this bug to really clean every little thing I could find. I also decided to make myself a chore calendar on this calendar/whiteboard thing I have. So every day I do specific chores and then the house stays a little cleaner and I don't do everything all in one day. I also want to keep up on the floorboards, doors, and doorways so I decided to do those twice a month. I just know that when our house is cleaner I feel a lot better and I'm in a better mood so I'm just gonna do a little each day and it'll make things easier. So besides cleaning we haven't been up to too much. We had a good Memorial Day. We did a bbq with Scott's friends in SLC. That was a lot of fun to see people we haven't seen in a long time and see their kids. I wish I would've taken pics but oh well. There is another bbq coming up on the 12th so hopefully then. Anyway, here's some pics of what we've been up to.
I really just love Tooele and all the beautiful scenery. I don't understand why more people don't wanna live out here. Cheaper homes and mountain views like this. I just love it. This was from a bike ride Charlotte and I took to the end of Skyline. I pretty much stay on the east side of Main St when I ride so I don't have to cross Main and it's just a little safer that way and this is almost as far South as you can go on the east side before you end up heading up a canyon. Tiring to get up here but super easy ride home... all down hill!
I love the mountain views then you also get the lake view which looks practically like an ocean. So beautiful out here. I just don't think that the pictures really can capture it.
Charlotte is my little bike riding buddy. She was kinda fussy on this ride cuz we took Scott lunch first and he was able to meet us and since she's a Daddy's girl she did not want him to go back to work. I was giving her pine cones to play with and long pieces of grass. I even let her hold my backpack cuz she was so mad that we had to leave dad. Luckily I still got a smile out of her here.
It's crazy how big Charlotte is getting. There are just so many things she is starting to do. She loves her basketballs and we put Scott's hoop he used to have at his Grandma's up in her bedroom hoping she'll like to play with it. She loves it and loves when we all go in and sit on the floor and shoot and lift her up to shoot the ball. She also likes kicking the ball around too which she was doing here. It's funny though how much she loves her basketball. Scott and I are hoping she'll want to play but won't ever force it on her of course. But it doesn't hurt to keep our fingers crossed :)
Everyday 3-4 times a day Charlotte sees me wipe down the table where she eats and the floor. Since I was also wiping down all of our doors and any marks on the wall Charlotte picked it up. She took the washcloth from me one day and was cleaning the door herself. She also dusted the coffee table a little and here she wanted to clean her spot. I hope she always likes doing this so when she's older she can be my little helper when I clean
One of my cleaning days I attacked the kitchen. I had moved everything off the counters including the fruit basket. I thought it was out of reach on the kitchen table but I underestimate Charlotte's reach. She must have long arms like her dad cuz when Scott plays bball I swear his arms stretch and he can block or interfere a pass like no other. So as I'm making lunch the little stinker grabbed this satsuma orange and just bit into it rind and all (also like her dad)
So you may think this is another picture of the above orange... of course not.... its another orange. When I was cleaning up she somehow grabbed another one! Little stinker. At least she got plenty of vitamin c that day!
Charlotte likes to sit in the chair by herself now so since she took Dad's spot he just crashed on the floor.
In her room she has this little tutu that her cousins made her for Christmas or something so I tied it on her and she thought she was pretty hot stuff walking around
I found her with an empty wipe container and she just kept putting it over her face yelling into it. That was pretty funny
I know I'm her mom but I just think she's so pretty. I just love all her faces.
We went to DI the other day to find a small bookcase for her bedroom and also found her a new pair of tennis shoes to wear when we go riding and Scott thought it'd be funny to put the price tag on her forehead... not a bad deal :)
My parents have been working on cleaning out there garage from the move and giving me stuff to sell at our garage sale and they found these tent things. They were Chloe's back in the day. We set them up for Charlotte to crawl through. She liked 'em ok but I think she'll have more fun when she gets bigger and gets more of an imagination
I had been trying some hats on her that used to be Chloe's to see what would fit her this summer and I took this basket in her room and put it on her head. She like it better than the hats. She kept it on longer... so goofy
This is my new favorite. I'll be in the kitchen washing dishes and it seems kinda quiet. I look around the corner and see Charlotte just playing on the couch. She figured out how to get up and is getting a lot better at climbing up and down so its just cute when I look over and see her just chillin' on the couch.
Sunday afternoon we decided to go for a little walk. We went up to the church so Scott could make sure this key he had worked then we decided to go by the park and let Charlotte walk around a bit.
She kept wanting to go into the dirt where they are doing some construction so Scott had to put her on his shoulders and I found a long piece of grass she could play with
Tried to get a pic of our whole little family
Memorial Day morning while Scott mowed and did some yard work I decided to take Charlotte for a bike ride. I wanted to go by the cemetery and see what they did to remember our veterans. They lined the fence with flags and there are just a ton of flowers and flags within the cemetery. It looked beautiful up there. I wish we could've been at the Miller raceway. In the paper was a pic and they put out 2,010 flags to honor all the men and women who fought for this country. I can only imagine how amazing that looked. What a great country for us to live in and thanks to all those who fought and fight to keep us free.
On the way home we stopped at East Elementary to let Charlotte play for a few. I knew Scott wouldn't be done with the yard and since Charlotte is so attached to him and wouldn't let him be alone I tried to drag out our excursion.
She's just so funny. Love this girl.
