Spence Baby v2.0 update

I had my monthly visit today. Just over 16 weeks. Hopefully this will be the last update referring to our baby as "baby Spence" and next month I should be able to at least give it a gender. As long as he/she cooperates better than its sister, miss Charlotte. Which I kind of doubt since the little bugger was a pill in trying to find its heartbeat today. When we first came in Scott's cousin, Liz spotted us so it was nice to chat with her and see sweet baby Evelyn. That helped pass the time. It was busy! Once we finally made it in the physicians assistant came in because my dr. was just so backed up. He's a busy guy. It was nice to meet her. They have a bunch of new staff in there. I didn't recognize anyone. But I'm sure he needs it. So anyway, the PA came in and was really struggling to find a heart beat. She was like, "I'm usually really good at this but your baby wants to hide." Shocker... another Charlotte maybe? She always hid. So after a couple min of searching everywhere she could she finally picked up on it long enough to hear before the baby moved again.

So that was good. I was secretly hoping they'd have to go do an ultrasound to get the heartbeat to just get a sneak peek. But oh well. Next month I get my ultrasound appt so yahoo! Oct. 10th is the big day. I'm really excited. I can't wait to start preparing a little more. I was also kind of glad I didn't hear anything about group B strep at this appt. I believe it was around this time with Charlotte that I found out I had group B strep which they usually don't test for until like 35 weeks or something. So maybe this time I won't have it. Not that its a big deal but one less thing to worry about.

I've been feeling pretty good. The weather is cooling down so I'm more motivated to head outdoors for walks and what not. Some smells are still really sensitive. I can't do anything that involves frying. My parents just got a fryer and were trying out stuff on Sun. and I had to go outside. It was bad. I also hate the smell of garlic but can eat it fine. With Charlotte when I ate garlic it gave me heartburn and made me kinda sick. Doesn't really bug me this time. I always feel better when I'm eating the good healthy stuff. Now that I can cook more I'm trying to just make better choices and not so much take out. It's so expensive and I'm not as tired and not as sick so I just gotta make sure we're eating better here at home. It was hard too for a bit because Charlotte had no appetite for anything I made but I think she's coming back around. I haven't really had any cravings that stand out. Randomly I'll crave stuff but for the most part nothing very consistent.

Well that's all I can type for now. I didn't sleep well and I'm developing one nasty headache so while Charlotte naps I think I will too. It's turning migraine-ish.... I hate that. If only I could use excedrin. It would be gone in like 20 min. Oh well... hopefully a little rest and some extra strength tylenol will do!
