As for our Spence family, we'll start with the youngest and work our way up...
Jackson man is over 3 weeks old. Crazy its gone so fast! We have yet to do his circumcision. I need to call on that today. Neither of our doctors would do them so I have to go to another doctor who will. He's eating up a storm. I spend sooo much time just feeding this boy. I feel like I'm starving half the time because he's just draining me. He eats way better than Charlotte did. He's been sleeping good because of it too. After his bath around 7 or 7:30 he starts eating. And he'll eat and eat until I'm practically empty. Then he'll usually crash between 9 and 11 and then be out 4-6 hrs. Sometimes I can hand him off to Scott so I can shower and get ready for bed and go to bed as soon as he does. Most of the time I end up not getting to bed until an hour or so after him. But I love that he's been letting me sleep that long. For now at least :) He has just been so fun though. He's a fairly quiet baby. Usually only crying when he's hungry and sometimes changing him. He's had a couple fussy nights. I think its been gas. I need to get some mylecon. Lame Walmart has been out of it the last couple times I've checked. But he really is such a good baby. I love to cuddle him and give him little kisses. He's a great cuddler. And he looks sooooo much like Charlotte. Scott even said pushing him in the stroller the other day while going to my parent's brought him back and it was like he was pushing Charlotte. They really are almost identical. He's just fuller. Looking at our wedding video with our baby pics we see both of us in him and Charlotte. I think Charlotte may resemble me a little more now. Especially with that long wispy blonde hair. But as a baby Jackson looks like he's got Scott's nose and chin but my mouth and cheeks and maybe my eyes. He definitely has Scott's hair line and his cute ears. But he's such a little cutie. Love my little man!
When he's eating and falls asleep he tends to do this. Puts the hand he's laying on up under his chin. Cute dude.
I've been horrible with taking more pics but I snagged on while he was awake before we had to go get my tire fixed.
Now for my Charlotte bug. She's had good and bad days. She is still super helpful and has done so good at keeping herself busy while I'm feeding or taking care of Jackson. She is such a cute chatter box. I'm amazed at how well she speaks. I love when she just randomly will ask me how I am or if I'm doing okay. Probably because I'm always yelling out to her down the hall if I'm feeding Jackson or I'll ask her while I'm doing stuff with Jackson. She's a sweetheart. She has yet to be potty trained but had crazy progress yesterday. She just wanted to go on her own and wear undies. She went like 5 times keeping undies dry but then had 3 accidents in a row. I know she can do it. Its just a matter of wanting to. A lot of time I think its just laziness and sometimes I think she is a little scared. I'm sure number 2's will take a while. But I'll take any progress I can get. Its just hard to be consistent when I have a very needy baby that requires so much attention. We'll get there. She is getting so big too! She's been wearing 3T shirts for a bit and might even fit into some 4T because she's so tall. She needs the length. But pants are a different story. She has such a tiny waist and I'm pretty sure she's around 30 lbs still. Her dresses seem like they're all starting to shrink up too. Her feet are growing. She's like an 8 1/2 to a 9 now. She told me the other day her shoes were hurting her. My mom bought her some new saddle shoes. She has yet to wear them. She's odd about new shoes but I'm thinking about getting her some Yo Gabba Gabba vans. They're kinda pricey but with as much as she plays and runs around she could use some sturdy shoes and I've always loved vans. So we'll see. Charlotte is also a very artsy girl. She loves to paint, draw, color and anything like that. She's pretty good too. I've been very impressed with what she draws. I could never draw that good at her age. She has just been a blessing to us and we are so thankful she's part of our family. Jackson will be so lucky to have her as his big sister.
My parents keep their horses at a friends house now. They have llamas, geese, ducks, chickens, a bunny, cats and dogs. They were feeding their animals so we took Charlotte down to see it all. We had to collect all the eggs from the chickens and ducks. They never have to buy eggs. It was also kind of cold and my dad showed her how to keep her hands warm in her pants pocket. She looked so cute and grown up.
The other day she crashed on the couch while watching Rocko's Modern Life. She normally doesn't nap until 1 or 2 and she crashed between 11 and 12. So not like her. But she was sleeping and Jackson was sleeping and I got laundry done. Good day for me!
On Sundays Charlotte doesn't get a nap because we have church from 1 to 4. We were watching something on tv and noticed she was rather quiet. Then we realized she was out.
Scott has been keeping plenty busy. With his work and calling he's got plenty to do. And I want him to take all the hours he can get so it gets hard at home sometimes when I could use his help but we need the money more and I can survive. I think it might get a little harder here soon when I get back into the flow of my calling but I'm sure it'll work out. We always enjoy Saturday mornings when Scott is home. He actually had a Friday morning home last week which was great. There were some issues with payment on a job they normally did Fri morning so he didn't have to go in at 5. Which I decided to clean the house while he was there. It was so nice to have the whole house cleaned by 8am. That was great because Scott ended up in to work around 9am and Jackson woke up shortly after and ate and ate and ate. And I had to get ready at some point in time because we were headed into Salt Lake with Kerianda later that evening for a wedding reception. So that worked out well. Then we even had him home Sunday morning because it was Stake Conference and all meetings were cancelled. We love when Daddy's home!
As for me things are good. I'm getting enough rest to get through the day. I usually get headaches in the afternoon or evening. Especially on Scott's longer days. But its pretty much lack of sleep. I still feel like I'm healing up well. Little aches and pains here and there but overall still doing great. I have my 6 week appt in just under 2 weeks. It'll technically be like slightly less than 6 weeks. But then I can get set up to get my IUD. Prefer not to have any surprise babies. I've slowly started to exercise. I try to walk in the evening but depending on when Jackson eats and when Scott gets home and when dinner gets done I don't always get the chance. I did get to ride my bike to the store Sat morning and this evening. That was nice... but tiring. I'm outta shape! Scott and I hope to be able to get to the church and shoot around too if he ever gets the time. Playing a little one on one with him will help me out too. I'll be jumping back into my calling soon too. We did go to Stake Conference on Sunday. We braved it with Charlotte stink bug. She did pretty good and Jackson slept the whole time. Then woke up when we were leaving. Which was great because we walked and so he cried the whole way home because he was hungry. Poor dude. I'm just still working through each day. Sometimes it takes a while to get dressed. Which is okay when we have those days I get spit up on a bunch. Some days are spent just feeding, doing laundry and doing as much for Charlotte as I can. I can still stick to my cleaning schedule so the house stays pretty clean for the most part.
Overall we're all doing good and continue to adjust well. I love having 2 kids (for now :)). I love our little family. I do think Scott and I need to work on taking a date night when Jackson is a little older and my milk is just a little more regulated. There is a new Cheesecake Factory opening up downtown at City Creek (so excited for that to be open!) and I really would like to go. My last experience at the Murray one wasn't too great. The cheesecake was good but the food was disappointing. I think downtown will be better. Downtown SLC means business and the big name restaurants are all pretty good. I look forward to blessing Jackson this next month. We're planning on April 15th. I kinda hope the weather is good because it'd be nice to just have the luncheon at the park pavilion by our church. I don't really know who will come that has kids besides his brothers, but if Scott's cousins come at all there will be lots of space for the kids to run around. Worse case we get nice and cozy at our house. And I can't wait for Jackson to wear the cute little outfit his Grandma Bennion made. Its got cute coat tails and a little bow tie. Love it! Well this post took me literally all day to do since I could only type little bits here and there. And little man is asleep so I better shower and get to sleep myself!
