Mother's Day

Oh Mother's Day... what a day. I was still feeling sick. Scott had a meeting first thing so I didn't get to sleep in at all. Bummer. I so could've used it. Luckily he was home by 8. He ended up leaving again to take his mom's gift up to her before her church because it was a really big picture frame we really didn't want to cart around with both kids in the car. So he took Charlotte with him. When he got back he made me some pancakes. I had kinda eaten that morning since I was up at 7 and was already hungry then but tried to not eat much because I know Scott was feeling kinda bad he had that meeting and wanted to at least do breakfast for me. The day before he gave me my gifts. We have a hard time holding out gifts from each other and usually give them early. He got me a couple dvds. One is with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. I love them and they make me laugh so hard. I haven't had time to watch yet but maybe by this weekend we can. The other is the movie Taken. That's a good suspenseful movie Scott and I really like. Then he got me a brownie mix and made me brownies. He had Charlotte help him too. It was super cute. He doesn't really cook but he can make brownies, mac and cheese, grilled cheese and killer toast (that's right... his toast is my favorite... weird but yeah...).

So since we were so busy the day before and opted to go out on a date there were still lots of things that didn't get done. Like dishes and laundry. Funny thing having Mother's Day on a day of rest (which I don't know about anyone else but hardly feels like a day of rest when you have little kids). Mother's really don't ever rest. And you expect them to on a day of rest? Ha! Yeah right. Good thing I wasn't going to church anyway or I'd be really behind! I guess there is always a trade when you do something. It was either have a nice date with stuff to finish Sunday or get it all done Saturday and no date night... yeah.... easy choice. I tried to push myself to get the dishes and laundry done before Scott left for church because I knew the second I was left alone with the kids I would so not have the time. I was feeling pretty icky at this point and so tired because I hadn't been sleeping thanks to the stuffy nose. I was able to get Charlotte to nap but then Jackson was struggling and I was kind of able to get some nap time in while Scott was gone. It was much needed since we were headed up to his grandparent's later then to my parent's afterwards.

We did dinner with the Bennions. Scott's parent's were there and so was Rick. Then his aunt Cindy and Uncle Mike along with his cousins Alisha and Guy. And I think that was it. Pretty small group but nice to visit and hang out with everyone. After that we headed to my parent's. My bro was over too. We visited for a bit then headed home and it felt so good to go to bed that night. I was exhausted. And thank goodness woke up the next morning with a lot less pressure in my head. Yahoo! So it wasn't too bad of a mother's day. I could really do without the being sick part next year.
