Running

So I've been running more and my endurance has really increased. The uphill is hard but downhill has been so much easier. Wherever I run I'm dealing with uphill but its really helped me get in shape. I had been doing stuff like running for 2 mins walk for 1. It helps me to push myself harder when I'm tired but still gives me enough to catch my breath when I feel I might die. I wanted to try doing Smelter. Its got a decent hill and it kills ya. I usually ride my bike but that's out of commission right now so I drove over and did the trail walking and running. It was hard and I couldn't keep to my 2 min run 1 min rest routine. But on the way back I was able to jog the whole time.

I always find a lot of random stuff up there and there are always gorgeous views. But here are some pics of some of the sights that day. Always dead animals. ALWAYS!

This was part of a deer carcass with some kind of animal tracks in the snow.
Gorgeous view of the lake. I love Smelter. It's quiet and peaceful and you have all kinds of views around you. This is Stansbury Island on the Salt Lake.
Sadly Rocky Mtn Power now has lines running the Oquirrhs but still a pretty view none the less. This was before all our snow melted thanks to the gorgeous weather we've had.
Another view of Erda/Stansbury and the lake
A view of north Tooele and the lovely Stansbury range in the back.
Those are the mountains I want to hike this summer. Deseret Peak. I thinks its like 11,031 feet above sea level. It's 12 miles round trip I believe. It won't be easy but can you imagine the views? I'm sure it's gorgeous up there. And I really want to do it.
Random deer leg. Nice right?

So this has been the last run I had. I did something to my back and have been in a ton of pain this week. I have a stash of 800mg ibuprofen that I never used from my surgery and thought if they are supposed to be strong enough to relieve pain from a surgery then I should try them for my back. Yeah there is maybe a slight dent in the pain but not much. And I think I have a pretty good pain tolerance. But its been really bad. And then I caught the spring cleaning bug and have literally been cleaning out everything. My laundry room, kitchen, living room, hallway and Jackson's room look fantastic. I can't wait to finish up this next week. But it has not been helpful in my back getting better. So if it still hurts by the 21st, when Scott gets paid, then I'll go to the chiropractor. Until then I'm just trying to get everything done inside so I can enjoy the outside! It's been in the 50s and 60s and I am loving it! And hopefully I'll be back to running soon. I can't even hardly walk so my exercise has been cleaning. As long as I keep moving!
