Conference Weekend

Conference weekend was great. I had recently gotten a new phone and I was brand new to my calling so all these great talks I was just taking in that seemed like they were directed at the youth. I also enjoyed trying to do a mini brunch both days.

Scott had to work Saturday morning so the kids and I walked to the store for a couple items. Of course it rained on us because it seems to always do that. This is walking back to the house looking towards the Salt Lake which you can't really see because of the stormy weather.

Poor tired hubby! His mean wife is always taking pictures of him when he falls asleep which is all the time! He works really hard! :)

Saturday morning I think I just did some overnight caramel sticky buns. So Sunday we ate those leftovers. I also made a Mediterranean scramble, pastry wrapped turkey sausage and then just some strawberries and bananas with some lime juice and honey. Didn't want anything too heavy.

The kids did so so trying to let us listen to conference this year. Jack loves stacking his blocks.

I also thought we could use a snack for the afternoon session. Turkey bacon wrapped lil smokies and a black bean mango salsa with tortilla chips.

We also celebrated my dad's 60th bday on Sunday although his birthday was technically Sat. I made him the classic chocolate cake with chocolate whipped cream filling and frosting. I was going to add fudge but it was not very friendly with the whipped cream so I just used it on the base of the cake. Then I did chocolate covered strawberries too.

I got a pic of Dovey too while we helped put the animals away. Love this sweet girl!

Oliver likes watching the ducks but I haven't seen him try to mess with them yet. He does like to tease the chickens though. He's hilarious. Love that cat! Charlotte was helping to put the ducks away.
